ArcelorMittal
ArcelorMittal is a public limited liability company (société anonyme) that was incorporated
for an unlimited period under the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on June 8, 2001.
As a company registered in Luxembourg, for fulfilling its non-financial reporting
requirements and indicated in the Directive they are guided by the Luxembourg implementation
of the EU directive, using the IIRC (International Integrated Reporting) framework to guide its
reporting on risks and materiality.
Non-financial data – basis of reporting
Arcelormittal use the IIR (International Integrated Reporting) Framework in combination
with the other reporting frameworks, including, GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards, the
CDP climate change and water questionnaire, emphasis on four key areas (health & safety,
environment and community relations, climate change and social issues).All data is reported for
the period 1st January to 31st December.
Reporting format are a suite of annual reports ensuring the need for transparency in their
corporate reporting. It is key to telling their value-creation story to investors and providing the
information they demand.We mention that ArcelorMittal corporate reporting is under the
regulatory spotlight.
These are:
 An integrated annual report,
 Annual value creation report , wich provides greater disclosure than is contained in
integrated report, such environmental matters or greater detail on its strategic
performance,
 Leadership report including full governance overview and full remuneration report
I. Business model – brief description
ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading steel and mining company wich are committed to
producing steel in a safe and sustainable way, being the leading supplier of quality steel
products in all major markets including automotive, construction,household appliances and
packaging.ArcelorMittal is present in 60 countries and we have an industrial footprint in 19
countries.
1. Business model, policies, risks related to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
issues
The effectiveness of this disclosure (narrative and numerical presentation, at the same
time) derives from the connection between the business model and the economic transformation
process from inputs (natural capital like energy,water intake,Human and intellectual capital,
Financial capital),to outputs and outcomes.
Also described are the sourcing relationships with suppliers, the value creation strategy
across the projects’ life-cycles, and the use of specific resources.

2. Policies related to environmental, social and employee matters, respect for human rights,
anti-corruption and bribery matters;Mostly in the Lidership report
ArcelorMittal has devoted considerable effort to informing stakeholders about its
governance structure and diversity policy.
Human rights-The policy includes commitments to workers, local communities and
business partners and covers health and safety, labour rights and the rights of indigenous people.
In line with these undertakings, safety, the Company’s top priority, makes up 10% of the
incentive scheme for the CEO Office. Company requires all employees in appropiate functions to
undergo human rights training every three years. In 2018, 94.1% of the Company’s relevant
workforce had completed up-to-date human rights training, up from 66% in 2017.
Policies related to environmental –concentrate to the role of business in reducing carbon
emissions and mitigating climate change, as well as on preparedness for the risks and
opportunities of the transition towards to a low-carbon economy.
3. Principal risks related to environmental, social and employee matters
ArcelorMittal’s business and results are substantially affected by regional and global
macroeconomic conditions.
Volatility in the supply and prices of raw materials, energy and transportation, and
volatility in steel prices or mismatches between steel prices and raw material prices could
adversely affect ArcelorMittal’s results of operations.
Unfair trade practices in ArcelorMittal’s home markets could negatively affect steel
prices and reduce ArcelorMittal’s profitability, while trade sanctions and barriers may have an
adverse effect on ArcelorMittal's operations in various markets.

The report presents a thorough analysis of the relationship of the EBITDA (Earnings before
interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) with other KPIs,
The methodology behind the calculation and reporting of these indicators, and
reporting boundaries, are set out in their Basis of Reporting document.
For example the calculation and reporting for KPI 2- (LTIFR) is shown below
Lost time injury rate =Fatalities + number of Injuries with lost time x10^6 (Per
million hours worked) person hours worked
Figures reported express the frequency of injuries per million hours worked. A work-
related injury is one that results in the loss of at least one full working day (beyond the date of
the injury) and is measured from the first day after the event.
II. Environmental matters
ArcelorMittal are bound by environmental legislation,poor environmental performance
could have a significant impact on the company, leading to penalties, prosecution or even plant
closures.
The report contains annual targets and performance measurements for every kind of risk,
indicating the actions undertaken to address these risks or opportunities.

1. Actions taken to ensure gender equality;
The ArcelorMittal Board’s diversity not only relates to gender, but also to the region,
background and industry of its members.
In line with the worldwide effort to increase gender diversity on the boards of directors of
listed and unlisted companies, the Board met its goal of increasing the number of women on the
Board to at least three by the end of 2015. Out of 9 members of the Board of Directors, women
represent 33.33% in 2018.
In 2018, women held 12.4% of management positions; this comprised 6% of Vice-
President positions, 6% at General Manager level and 14% of Managers. 11.4% of senior
succession plan candidates - those who are foreseen to take over senior manager positions at
General Managers level and above - are women. A number of programs are in place to develop
women as leaders.

Temporary employment: Employees hired on a temporary basis by the company are
included in all health and safety statistics. Temporary employment may include: contracts

3. Working conditions; Remuneration Report should be consulted
4. Respect for the right of workers to be informed and consulted;
Employee engagement is key and feedback is integrated into action plans, to address
employees’ concerns.
Every two years, a Company-wide engagement survey gauges employees’ opinions,
attitudes and levels of satisfaction.
This "Speak up!" survey seeks feedback in a range of areas, including organizational
direction, leadership and professional deployment and development.
It allows employees to relay feedback anonymously to the executive leadership and the
Company to build specific action plans to address employee’s concerns.
5. Respect for trade union rights;
Employees in various parts of the world are represented by trade unions and
ArcelorMittal is a party to collective bargaining agreements with organizations in certain
locations. The reporting summarizes and describe the status of certain of these agreements and
relationships. The Company is committed to open, respectful and transparent social dialogue at
all of its operations, to strong employee relations, and safe, healthy and quality working lives for
all its workers
6. Health and safety at work;
Policy Company focus on a healthy workforce also, safety for people has been its number
one priority. In 2018 lost-time injury frequency rate of 0.69 was the lowest level Company
have ever recorded.
Alongside its objective of eliminating accidents, its Journey to Zero programme aims to
encourage healthy lifestyles, foster wellbeing and reduce occupational diseases to zero.

IV. Ethical matters
1. Prevention of human rights abuses, instruments in place to fight corruption and briber
ArcelorMittal commitment to integrity is embodied in its Code of Business Conduct
and is supported by a comprehensive framework of policies and procedures in areas such as
human rights, anti-corruption and insider dealing.
These documents reflect the principles and concepts of the UN Global Compact, the
OECD Guidelines on Multinational Enterprises and UN Sustainable Development Goal 1.
It applies to all directors, officers and employees of ArcelorMittal S.A. and its
subsidiaries worldwide. Based on a training matrix, Company employees undergo training on the
Code of Business Conduct and other aspects of compliance every three years.

In 2018, 87.5% of ArcelorMittal’s employees worldwide have completed the training on
the Code of Business Conduct, and 90.4% have done their mandatory anti-corruption training.

We considering the non-financial information of ArcelorMittal reflect the guiding
principles of the International Integrated Reporting Framework (IIRC). It ia a Transparent,
forward-looking reporting – based on a wider balance between financial and nonfinancial
information.
It forms part of a wider approach to reporting at a global and local level,wich means to
be transparent about providing nonfinancial information on a voluntary basis,supported by
reports that provide details on specific areas of ArcelorMittal work or are designed for the use of
specific stakeholder groups.

ArcelorMittal's CSR reporting framework and KPIs

  • 1. 1 ArcelorMittal ArcelorMittal is a public limited liability company (société anonyme) that was incorporated for an unlimited period under the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on June 8, 2001. As a company registered in Luxembourg, for fulfilling its non-financial reporting requirements and indicated in the Directive they are guided by the Luxembourg implementation of the EU directive, using the IIRC (International Integrated Reporting) framework to guide its reporting on risks and materiality. Non-financial data – basis of reporting Arcelormittal use the IIR (International Integrated Reporting) Framework in combination with the other reporting frameworks, including, GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards, the CDP climate change and water questionnaire, emphasis on four key areas (health & safety, environment and community relations, climate change and social issues).All data is reported for the period 1st January to 31st December. Reporting format are a suite of annual reports ensuring the need for transparency in their corporate reporting. It is key to telling their value-creation story to investors and providing the information they demand.We mention that ArcelorMittal corporate reporting is under the regulatory spotlight. These are:  An integrated annual report,  Annual value creation report , wich provides greater disclosure than is contained in integrated report, such environmental matters or greater detail on its strategic performance,  Leadership report including full governance overview and full remuneration report I. Business model – brief description ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading steel and mining company wich are committed to producing steel in a safe and sustainable way, being the leading supplier of quality steel products in all major markets including automotive, construction,household appliances and packaging.ArcelorMittal is present in 60 countries and we have an industrial footprint in 19 countries. 1. Business model, policies, risks related to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) issues The effectiveness of this disclosure (narrative and numerical presentation, at the same time) derives from the connection between the business model and the economic transformation process from inputs (natural capital like energy,water intake,Human and intellectual capital, Financial capital),to outputs and outcomes. Also described are the sourcing relationships with suppliers, the value creation strategy across the projects’ life-cycles, and the use of specific resources.

Policies related to environmental, social and employee matters, respect for human rights, anti-corruption and bribery matters;Mostly in the Lidership report ArcelorMittal has devoted considerable effort to informing stakeholders about its governance structure and diversity policy. Human rights-The policy includes commitments to workers, local communities and business partners and covers health and safety, labour rights and the rights of indigenous people. In line with these undertakings, safety, the Company’s top priority, makes up 10% of the incentive scheme for the CEO Office. Company requires all employees in appropiate functions to undergo human rights training every three years. In 2018, 94.1% of the Company’s relevant workforce had completed up-to-date human rights training, up from 66% in 2017. Policies related to environmental –concentrate to the role of business in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change, as well as on preparedness for the risks and opportunities of the transition towards to a low-carbon economy. 3. Principal risks related to environmental, social and employee matters ArcelorMittal’s business and results are substantially affected by regional and global macroeconomic conditions. Volatility in the supply and prices of raw materials, energy and transportation, and volatility in steel prices or mismatches between steel prices and raw material prices could adversely affect ArcelorMittal’s results of operations. Unfair trade practices in ArcelorMittal’s home markets could negatively affect steel prices and reduce ArcelorMittal’s profitability, while trade sanctions and barriers may have an adverse effect on ArcelorMittal's operations in various markets. For example the calculation and reporting for KPI 2- (LTIFR) is shown below Lost time injury rate =Fatalities + number of Injuries with lost time x10^6 (Per million hours worked) person hours worked Figures reported express the frequency of injuries per million hours worked. A work- related injury is one that results in the loss of at least one full working day (beyond the date of the injury) and is measured from the first day after the event. II. Environmental matters ArcelorMittal are bound by environmental legislation,poor environmental performance could have a significant impact on the company, leading to penalties, prosecution or even plant closures. The report contains annual targets and performance measurements for every kind of risk, indicating the actions undertaken to address these risks or opportunities.

Actions taken to ensure gender equality; The ArcelorMittal Board’s diversity not only relates to gender, but also to the region, background and industry of its members. In line with the worldwide effort to increase gender diversity on the boards of directors of listed and unlisted companies, the Board met its goal of increasing the number of women on the Board to at least three by the end of 2015. Out of 9 members of the Board of Directors, women represent 33.33% in 2018. In 2018, women held 12.4% of management positions; this comprised 6% of Vice- President positions, 6% at General Manager level and 14% of Managers. 11.4% of senior succession plan candidates - those who are foreseen to take over senior manager positions at General Managers level and above - are women. A number of programs are in place to develop women as leaders. 2. Every two years, a Company-wide engagement survey gauges employees’ opinions, attitudes and levels of satisfaction. This "Speak up!" survey seeks feedback in a range of areas, including organizational direction, leadership and professional deployment and development. It allows employees to relay feedback anonymously to the executive leadership and the Company to build specific action plans to address employee’s concerns. 5. Respect for trade union rights; Employees in various parts of the world are represented by trade unions and ArcelorMittal is a party to collective bargaining agreements with organizations in certain locations. The reporting summarizes and describe the status of certain of these agreements and relationships. The Company is committed to open, respectful and transparent social dialogue at all of its operations, to strong employee relations, and safe, healthy and quality working lives for all its workers 6. Health and safety at work; Policy Company focus on a healthy workforce also, safety for people has been its number one priority. In 2018 lost-time injury frequency rate of 0.69 was the lowest level Company have ever recorded. Alongside its objective of eliminating accidents, its Journey to Zero programme aims to encourage healthy lifestyles, foster wellbeing and reduce occupational diseases to zero. 7. Prevention of human rights abuses, instruments in place to fight corruption and briber ArcelorMittal commitment to integrity is embodied in its Code of Business Conduct and is supported by a comprehensive framework of policies and procedures in areas such as human rights, anti-corruption and insider dealing. These documents reflect the principles and concepts of the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines on Multinational Enterprises and UN Sustainable Development Goal 1. It applies to all directors, officers and employees of ArcelorMittal S.A. and its subsidiaries worldwide. Based on a training matrix, Company employees undergo training on the Code of Business Conduct and other aspects of compliance every three years.
  • 7. 7 In 2018, 87.5% of ArcelorMittal’s employees worldwide have completed the training on the Code of Business Conduct, and 90.4% have done their mandatory anti-corruption training. It ia a Transparent, forward-looking reporting – based on a wider balance between financial and nonfinancial information. It forms part of a wider approach to reporting at a global and local level,wich means to be transparent about providing nonfinancial information on a voluntary basis,supported by reports that provide details on specific areas of ArcelorMittal work or are designed for the use of specific stakeholder groups.
