The objective of this research is to determine images of Indonesia through Indonesian folktales. The content analysis is used as the method of this research. The data are collected from a book “Indonesian Children Folktales” published by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Bangkok. The book was translated into English and Thai and was distributed to schools and universities throughout Thailand. The findings show that the folktales represent image, identity, belief, and way of life of Indonesian people. They also reflect the diversity in Indonesia. This research may be beneficial for those interested in studying Indonesian culture.

folktales reflected the diversity of Indonesian people.
•The tales represent belief, way of life and identity of
Indonesian People
•As material of teaching this book could be considerate.
