Dow Corning silicone compounds provide hydrophobic coatings that prevent flashovers even after long periods of time in contaminated conditions. The coatings maintain their hydrophobicity and original color over many years when used on voltages from 11kv to 500kv, making them suitable for coastal environments.

Dow Corning Silicone Compounds
Despite a complete layer of contamination consisting
of calcining dust from Rain Calcining’s own plant and
other industrial pollutants from nearby Hygrade, CFL,
and the sea just a mile away, Dow Corning 5
Compound has proved itself to be a reliable combat
against pollution induced flashover. The average life
before recoating is now 18-24 months.

spread grayish white material
enable easy visual inspection of

Sylgard HVIC + even after 9 years in
contaminated conditions shows excellent
hydrphobicity. The surface when cleaned
also shows the original colour of the
coating has not changed much. Applied
from 11 kv to 500 kv DC voltage. Ideal for
coastal environments.
