Interior designer and entrepreneur Liliana Bordallo leads Household
Services, Inc. In this capacity, she provides everything from gardening and
child care services to house cleaning and event decoration. In her free time,
Liliana Bordallo enjoys traveling outside of Florida to visit different
museums around the world.
Rome, one of the art capitals of the world, is home to several museums,
including the Vatican Museum. While many tourists flock to these
institutions, they often overlook other museums in the city, such as the
Galleria Borghese. This public art gallery is one of the best in the city, albeit
an often underrated one.
Cardinal Scipione Borghese is responsible for the existence of the Galleria
Borghese. A knowledgeable art collector, Cardinal Borghese headed the
Vatican government and accumulated a great deal of wealth through his
position. Much of this wealth was invested in art by renowned artists such
as Raphael, Caravaggio, and Titian.

3. Galleria Borghese
At first, the cardinal’s art collection was kept near his home. However,
he transferred it to a new villa near Porta Pinciana in the 1620s. He and
his successors commissioned several remodels of the villa over the
years and ultimately divided the art collection into sculptures, frescoes,
and mosaics on the ground floor and paintings on the second floor.
Several pieces were sold due to financial difficulties facing the family in
the 19th century.
In 1902, the Roman government acquired the entire Borghese family
estate after Marcantonio Borghese decided to sell because of continued
financial challenges. The sale included all 557 paintings and 314
sculptures and enabled the eventual opening of the Galleria Borghese.
