The Diploma of Classical Languages complements the Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts. It allows students to learn Latin and Ancient Greek, the original languages of the Western tradition, in order to directly engage with foundational texts. Studying these classical languages develops skills like critical thinking, analyzing concepts and ideas, and understanding other cultures. The diploma requires completion of introductory and intermediate units in both Latin and Greek, with an option to specialize in one language by taking more advanced units. It can only be undertaken part-time and concurrently with the Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts.
