When times get tough, everyone looks for someone who can convince them that it's going to be okay. But how do you really know? This sermon presents three solid reasons from 1 Peter 1:1-12 to help us see that no matter what we're going through, it's going to be okay!
How you talk to people about Jesus depends on what they already know.
There are four great facts that must be communicated. He was completely human. He was more than a great teacher. He overcame death. Your spiritual encounter with Him today.

Who is the Holy Spirit? Jesus died to make available to all believers the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person part of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit is the Guide, the Helper, the Comforter and the Counselor. He makes available to believers the power and character of Jesus.
Why was Calvary not enough? What if Jesus did not rise from the dead? What would that mean? Why was the physical resurrection of Jesus so necessary to prove something?
The answer may surprise you.

This is a collection of some of the best writings on the importance of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. We need to take the role of the Spirit more seriously.
I am sharing about how being connected to Jesus, who is the Word made flesh, is a powerful connection for living an abundant life. We can receive abundance, blessings, etc.
Making converts, gaining decisions, does not equal making disciples. It is essential we look at the right ideas, in the right way to make real disciples of King Jesus.
It is common to refer to the process of maturing as a disciple as spiritual formation. Here, based upon work by Greg Ogden, I give a four stage process for growing into maturity, and fruitfulness, as a follower of King Jesus.
Jesus expected a process of change, growth and development in the life of his followers. Many writers suggest a three or four stage process. A four stage process is outlined here, along with personal challenge / application.
Disciple-Making, according to Greg Ogden requires at least tow major factors: Internalisation and Multiplication. This presentation adds to his ideas with some scripture and illustrative ideas challenging followers of Christ to become, and make, disciples in his image.
Name someone...who has impacted your life.
Disiple-making is a deliberate act requiring discipline and dedication

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

3. In the OT the HS is in the world
as the omnipresent God.
Yet we still say he came on the
day of Pentecost. He will remain
until on the day of the rapture
of the church he will depart, in
just the same way he ‘came’ at
Pentecost.
This will be fully explained in
this section.
Thursday 7 April 2011
4. A. THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE OT
Before the coming of Christ the HS was
still present on the earth working in and
through people for the will of God.
Gen 41:38 - And Pharaoh said to his
servants, "Can we find a man like this, in
whom is the Spirit of God?"
Num 27:18 - So the LORD said to Moses,
"Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom
is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him.
Zech 4:6 -Then he said to me, "This is the
word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by
might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the
LORD of hosts.

5. HS was involved in creating
the world, speaking to
prophets, inspiring scripture
to be written, restraining sin,
enabling believers, performing
miracles.
It appears HS was with but
not in every believer in the
OT.

6. B. THE HS DURING THE LIFE OF
CHRIST ON EARTH
1. The Spirit was the
generating power for
Christ's conception - he also
came at his baptism - and, Heb
9:14, by the HS he offered
himself to God
2. There was a progressive
relationship of HS to men
during Christ’s ministry

7. Jn 14:16-17 - Jesus would ask and
send
Jn 20:21-22 - Jesus said to them
again,"Peace be with you. As the Father
has sent me, even so I am sending you."
And when he had said this, he breathed
on them and said to them,"Receive the
Holy Spirit.
Luke 24:49 - (Acts 1:4) -And
behold, I am sending the promise of my
Father upon you. But stay in the city
until you are clothed with power from
on high."

8. C. THE COMING OF HOLY SPIRIT AT
PENTECOST
Fulfilling the promise of Father and Son
the omnipresent Holy Spirit came into
the world on the day of Pentecost.
God is omnipresent yet the Bible says
Father is in heaven but Eph 4:6 -one
God and Father of all, who is over all and
through all and in all.
Jesus - Matt 18:20 - For where two or
three are gathered in my name, there am I
among them."
So Holy Spirit comes and makes his
dwelling amongst us in this time - he has
moved to earth for this time of grace

9. It is the work of the HS which
brings any man to Christ
1. HS enables men to
understand their sin of
unbelief in Jesus - Jn 3:18 -
Whoever believes in him is not
condemned, but whoever does not
believe is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the
name of the only Son of God.
Thursday 7 April 2011
10. 2. HS shows unbelievers the righteousness of God
- HS reveals the righteousness of God - which is so high that
it cannot be achieved by human works - and that there is a
righteousness available by faith in Christ - which when
accepted enables man to be accepted by faith in Christ’s
righteousness in life and his death on the cross.
Rom 1:16-17 -For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the
power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew
first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is
revealed from faith for faith,as it is written, "The righteous shall
live by faith."
Rom 3:22 - the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus
Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
Rom 4:5 -And to the one who does not work but believes in him
who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
Thursday 7 April 2011
11. 3. HS reveals the judgement and
eternal punishment brought
upon satan by the cross -at the
cross satan has been defeated and
judged
In a believer the HS now brings about
regeneration (Jn 3:3-7), indwells them
(Jn 7:37-39), seals them (Eph 4:30),
baptises them (1 Cor 12:13), fills them
(Eph 5:18) and enables them to walk in
Him (Gal 5:16)
When the rapture takes place HS will
have accomplished his work in all
believers (just as Christ did before the
ascension)
