2.  The British Museum is situated in central
London, in the Bloomsbury area and is
within walking distance of 4 underground
stations: Russel Square, Tottenham Court
Road, Goodge Street and Holborn.
 Coach parking is also available along
Montague Place.
 All groups must use the Montague
entrance.
 Give extra time to go through
security as bags will be checked.

3.  We have chosen the Anglo-Saxons as our focus and have built
curriculum links with History, Art and Design, Design and
Technology and ICT around the theme.
 Room 41 - Sutton Hoo and Europe- and room 50 – Britain and
Europe- in the museum display an impressive collection of
artefacts. They are situated in the upper floor.

4. Sutton Hoo
The centrepiece of the collections is the Anglo-Saxon
ship burial from Sutton Hoo in Suffolk – one of the
most spectacular and important discoveries in British
archaeology.

5.  During the visit, children will be able to attend a
special session and create a video news report about
the discovery of Sutton Hoo.
 A link to the completed video online is sent back to
school to continue learning in the classroom and
share with others.
 The session time is from 10.30 till 14.00 with
a 30 minutes lunch break at 11.30 till 12.00.
 The session is entirely free.
