The Booby is a bird found in the Galapagos Islands, characterized by its long neck, brown wings with black stripes, large blue-black beak, and long pointed wings. It lives along coastal areas between Peru and the Gulf of California as well as the Galapagos Islands, feeding on fish like sardines, anchovies, and mackerel that it catches by diving into the water at speeds up to 100 km/h. The male performs a dance to impress the female by showing off its blue feet during courtship.

2. DESCRIPTION Long : 85 cm This bird has got a long neck and beautiful blue legs. The feathers on the wings are brown and its head and neck are brown with black stripes. Large blue-black beak. Have long pointed wings and a wedge-shaped tail. The female is bigger than the male.

3. Where they live The Booby lives in coast between Peru and the Gulf of California, in addition to the Galapagos Islands, where they live with their relative, the red-footed booby .

4. Diet The Booby eats sardines,anchovies,mackerel, flying fish and squid. The Booby can dive into the water 25 meters at a speed of 100 km/h.

5. The courtship of blue-footed booby is composed of a male showing off their blue feet and dancing to impress the female . The breeding cycle of the booby is every 8 or 9 months. The female lays 2 or 3 eggs. The incubation period is 41-45 days.
