    Mongols
   By: Jonathan Molai
For:APWH-Robin Tingley
Verse 1
Born in Asia’s barren steppes,
Temujin, the young chieftain,
United the Mongol tribes,
And took the name Genghis Khan
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 2
Genghis established such an ordinance,
That replaced tradition
It enforced loyalty and sub ordinance
And promised religious freedom.
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 3
Abolishing all inherited titles,
Every man was forced to fight for
Their position and privileges
Through leadership and valor in skirmishes.
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 4
They Looted and pillaged,
Their way through the villages
Of countries and states that they invaded
They were definitely a force not to be irritated
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 5
After they conquered the cities,
They’d leave their own administrators behind,
And would let you live if
You paid your taxes and were loyal and kind
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 6
After creating a great Asian empire,
The Mongols aspired
To know what lay north, in Europe,
So on they went upon horse and stirrup.
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 7
Europe was feudalist and disorganized
So the Mongols succeeded
A Russian army tried to stop them,
And was completely decimated.
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 8
When Genghis Khan died in 1277
The Mongol empire was extensive
The power then went to his sons
But Ogodei squandered the empire’s funds
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 9
Reminiscing about the past European victory,
Ogodei sent the Mongols once again west
Invading and pillaging Poland and Hungay
But little did they know that this was their last.
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
Verse 10
European land was poor for grazing
and wet weather weakened the bows
Thus, the Mongols began withdrawing
from Europe and continued for 100yrs more.
Chorus
Genghis Khan was the great
Leader of the Mongol people
With an amazing cavalry and Iron discipline,
They conquered all who gave them trouble.
Chorus
They were expert archers
With arrows that surely killed
They captured their captives but did not torture
The Mongols were extremely skilled
