- The Zanzibari Prince revolted against the British
Empire.
- Political affiliation.

Why Did They Revolt?
- After the death of the previous sultan, Zanzibari
Prince refused to accept the British Empire’s
wanted successor.
- Insisted on taking the sultan palace for himself.
- Prompted imperial cruisers to dislike him.
- Unhappy that British wanted to get rid of slavery.
How did they organize
- The prince bordered the palace with lots of the
sultan’s soldiers and supporters.
- Supported by a small percent of artillery and
the armed royal yacht Glasgow.
- Didn’t really organize / plan beforehand.
