Thank you for participating in the ERAU Writing Rubric--Implementation Follow-Up.
Through your investment of time and energy, I have been able to gather information that
can guide my efforts to increase the use of the rubric across disciplines. Even more
importantly, your participation in this project helps in the ongoing efforts to strengthen
our students’ writing, so that they can achieve both educational and professional success.
The rubric project represents an important strategy in the University’s overall efforts to
strengthen teaching and learning. The rubric provides clear documentation of college-
level writing expectations and an example of a realistic process that instructors can use to
give targeted feedback to help their students improve. In addition, the rubric can serve as
evidence of ERAU’s efforts toward achieving consistency in the assessment of student
writing, thus demonstrating the University’s commitment to continuous improvement in
advance of the SACS visitation in 2012.
You have made a significant contribution to the success of this project; indeed, I could
