This document is a test paper containing multiple questions related to transducers. It includes 3 questions:
1. Asks to discuss the difference between high reproducibility and repeatability results.
2. Asks to classify transducers based on energy conversion into modifiers, modulators and self-generators and provide one example of each.
3. Has three parts: a) asks to calculate voltage outputs of a linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) in different positions, b) asks to explain the major difference between a differential variable reluctance transducer (DVRT) and LVDT, c) asks to state advantages and disadvantages of using an LVDT for linear displacement measurement.

ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS.
l. Please discuss the meaning and the difference between a high REPRODUCIBILITY results and a
high REPEATABILITY results. (4 Marks) q
2. Explain how transducers can be classified on the basis of energy conversion into modifiers,
modulators and self-generators. Provide ONE example for each classification. (6 Marks)
J. Linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) is normally used to measured small linear
displacement of many industry applications.
A cross section of a balance LVDT is shown in Fig. 1. The maximum voltage output, Vour is 80%
of the input voltag€, Vn. Find V6glwhen the core of the LVDT is in the middle position r:0,
fully move to the LEFT and fully move to the RIGHT. (6 Marks)
