Title “Modelling and Simulation of Solar Tunnel Dryer for Coffee Drying in
Harar,Ethiopia”

Description “The objective was optimization of sensitive drying parameters of solar tunnel dryer
to improve the drying quality of Parchment Coffee. The modeling and simulation work has two
sections. The transient equations developed for the absorber plate, plastic cover temperature and air
outlet temperature are solved using explicit finite difference method (FDM). The second was
mathematical modeling and simulation of heat and mass transfer through the parchment of Coffee on
a fixed drying bed. The 2D heat and mass transfer through the parchment of Coffee are modeled
using the assumption of thin layer drying model. The heat and mass transfer equations are solved
using finite difference method (FDM) and the Simulation has been done by MATLAB®
programming software.”
