Telemachos, the future king of Ithaca, embarks on a journey with the guidance of Athena to learn about his father Odysseus and gain courage. He visits Nestor in Pylos, where he is welcomed and learns of the Trojan War. In Sparta, he learns more of his father's accomplishments from Menelaus and Helen. On the return to Ithaca, the suitors plot an ambush for Telemachos, demonstrating the cultural importance of town meetings and sailing.
