Telemachos was born and raised on the island of Ithaca in Greece. As the future king of Ithaca, he is wholly devoted to maintaining his father's estate while his mother remains there. The goddess Athena acts as Telemachos's mentor to help guide him. At Pylos on the coast of Greece, Telemachos gains courage and speaking abilities from retelling the story of Troy with Nestor. He is welcomed at a feast for Lord Poseidon with nine messes of 500 people and bulls, and also worships Athena. On his return journey to Ithaca from Sparta, the suitors planning to ambush Telemachos and Athena.
