This document presents a series of quotes from 1703 to 1985 that show how educators have consistently worried that new technologies will undermine students' education and abilities. Over the centuries, concerns were raised about slates, paper, ink pens, fountain pens, ballpoint pens, handheld calculators, and now computers. However, technologies continued to be adopted and integrated into education.
