9 Secrets That Will Make Your Headline Go ViralJonathan Rick
“Let’s put it on our website.” The refrain is increasingly common, but, as always, there’s a right way and a wrong way.
An amateur will do what’s easiest: copy and paste. But a pro knows that to copy and paste is to deprive readers of the Web’s richness. Shifting copy from dead trees to Web browsers is both art and science.
The art: to write for the web, you need to be not only a writer, but also a marketer, a designer, and a publicist. The science: to write for the web, you need to understand how people read on the web.
To this end, we’ll review the differences between reading something designed for a monitor and something designed for print. We’ll walk through the best practices of web writing, and review a variety of good and bad examples. We’ll also intersperse exercises throughout, so you learn by doing.
By the end of this workshop, you will:
* Be able to develop powerful headlines
* Know how to leverage lists, bullets, tables, headings, and other visual cues
* Understand the importance of images
* Write in a web-friendly tone

1. One of his favorite memories at
Technifax is becoming Director
of Sales in Fort Worth and
going through the process of
hiring the great team he now
leads. The thing Jonathan enjoys
most about his job is getting to
work alongside a dedicated
group of mature "new-to-the-
industry" reps and sharing his
trade secrets. He attributes his
success to his supportive,
patient, longtime girlfriend Janie,
plus some key individuals who
saw something unique in him
and continue to see the best in
him, showing their support and
being a part of his continued
professional growth.
Meet Jonathan Callaway,
Director of Sales. Jonathan
has 12 years of sales experience
and has won multiple
President’s Clubs. He served as
a major account rep for 3 years
before his promotion to
management in 2014. Here are
a few fun facts about Jonathan.
He is a proud graduate of Texas
A&M University (“Whoop!” and
“Gig 'em!”) He has 2 quirky
dogs named Gus and Beans. He
is a middle child, with an older
sister and younger brother
(Editor’s note: any psychology
majors in the house?) His first
jobs were working maintenance
for Summer Fun USA and
serving as a Youth Pastor at
Lakeview Baptist Church in
Belton TX. He has traveled to
Israel, Egypt, the Holy Lands in
Jerusalem, the Dominican
Republic, and New York; but if
he could go anywhere in the
world right now, it would be
Dubai. What he is most proud of
in life is that he has finally
reached a place he can impact
others’ lives by providing mentor
-styled leadership and sharing the
things he has learned through his
professional and personal experi-
ences. In his leisure time he
enjoys golfing, grilling, cocktails
by the pool, and riding his
motorcycle. From time to time
he has been known throw a bet
down at a casino. His favorite TV
shows are Shark Tank, King of
Queens, Everybody Loves
Raymond and Bizarre Foods. His
favorite restaurants are Bob's
Chop House, Buttons, Little
Caesar’s, Chicken Express and
any fine buffet like Pancho’s or
Golden Corral. He is currently
rocking out to KISS FM or ‘90's
on 9’ in his car.

Angels 10, Rangers 2. That’s a
bummer, unless of course
you’re an Angels fan, but at

drinks were cold!

The other looked at his coffee

Mother’s Day Trivia
World record for most children:
Valentina Vassilyeva of Russia had 16
sets of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4
sets of quadruplets between 1725
and 1765. Utah is the state with the
most children per mom. India cele-
brates Mother’s Day for ten days.
Americans spend
over $2 billion on
flowers each year
for Mother’s Day.
Four babies are born
in the world every
second. NASCAR does not race on
Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is the
most popular holiday for dining out.
Call your mother: Phone traffic
spikes at least 37% on this day.
Memorial Day is Monday, May 25th.
It became an official federal holiday in the
United States in 1971 as a day of remem-
brance for people who lost their lives while
serving in the armed forces. Many
Americans treat Memorial Day as the
beginning of summer, which is why it has
become such a popular weekend for cook-
outs and outdoor activities.

What part of no don’t you understand?
I don’t care who started it. Nothing’s broken; you're fine.
Because I said so. I will turn this car around!
Money doesn’t grow on trees.
Your face is going to freeze like that.
I don’t care what everyone else is doing.
No one said life was fair.
Close the door; you weren’t born in a barn.
I am not running a taxi service.
If you can’t finish your dinner, you’re too full for dessert.
I’ve told you a thousand times. ‘I don’t know’ is not an answer.
Don’t sit so close to the TV.
Stop crying or I’ll give you something to cry about.
