This document provides information about a presentation on effective use of visual media in teaching given by Heather Gendron, Art Librarian, and Winifred Metz from the Media Resources Center. The presentation covers visual media collections and tools available through the library as well as basic techniques for incorporating visuals such as films, images, maps and graphs into teaching. It provides examples of how visuals can be used to engage students, illustrate concepts, and foster critical thinking. Guidance is offered on analyzing different types of visuals and incorporating techniques like visual thinking strategies. Resources for creating visuals and guidelines for fair use of images are also summarized.
