This document contains 40 verses from the Quran where believers invoke "Our Lord" or "Rabbanā" followed by a request or prayer. RABBANA (Our Lord).
Let us recite them
with FEAR and HOPE
seeking the HELP of ALLAH.

3. I seek refuge in Allah
from the Satan the cursed one
A-’u-dhu bil-lahi mi-nash shay-ta-nir ra-jim

4. Bis-mil-lahir rah-ma-nir rahim
In the name of Allah
The Most Beneficent , The Most Merciful

5. 11Our Lord! Accept from us (this duty). Lo!
Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower.
[Al-Baqarah 2:127]
Rab-bana ta-qab-bal min-na in-naka
An-tas sami’ul-‘alim

6. 22
Our Lord! And make us submissive unto Thee and
of our seed a nation submissive unto Thee, and
show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us.
Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Relenting, the
Merciful. [Al-Baqarah 2:128]
Rab-bana waj-’alna muslimayni laka wa min
dhur-riy-yatina um-matam muslimatal lak
wa arina manasikana wa tub ‘alayna
in-naka an-tat taw-wabur rahim

7. 33
Our Lord! Give unto us in the world that
which is good and in the Hereafter that
which is good, and guard us from the doom
of Fire. [Al-Baqarah 2:201]
Rab-bana a-tina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil
a-khi-rati hasanah wa qina ‘a-dha-ban nar

8. 44Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make
our foothold sure, and give us help against
the disbelieving folk.[Al-Baqarah 2:250]
Rab-bana af-righ ‘alayna sab-raw wa
thab-bit aq-damana wan-surna ‘alal
qaw-mil kafirin

9. 55Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget,
or miss the mark! [Al-Baqarah 2:286]
Rab-bana la tu’-akhid-na in nasina
aw akh-ta’-na

10. 66Our Lord! Lay not on us such a burden as
thou didst lay on those before us!
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
Rab-bana wa la tah-mil ‘alayna is-ran kama
hamal-tahu ‘alal la-dhi-na min qab-lina

11. 77Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not
the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have
mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory
over the disbelieving folk. [Al-Baqarah 2:286]
Rab-bana wa la tuham-milna ma la taqata lana
bih / wa’fu ‘an-na wagh-fir-lana war-hamna / an-
ta mawlana fan-surna ‘alal qawmil kafirin

12. 88
Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after
Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from
Thy Presence. Lo! Thou,
only Thou, art the Bestower.

Rab-bana la tu-zigh qulu-bana ba’da idh-haday-
tana / wa hab lana mil ladun-ka rahmah
/ in-naka an-tal wah-hab

13. 99
Our Lord! Lo! it is Thou Who gatherest
mankind together to a Day of which there is
no doubt. Lo! Allah faileth not to keep the
tryst. [Ali Imran 3:9]
Rab-bana in-naka ja-mi-’un nasi li-yaw-mil
la rayba fih / in-nal-laha la yukh-liful mi-’ad

14. 1010Our Lord! Lo! We believe. So forgive us our
sins and guard us from the punishment of
Fire. [Ali Imran 3:16]
Rab-bana in-nana a-man-na fagh-firlana
dhu-nubana wa qina ‘a-dha-ban nar

15. 1111
Our Lord! We believe in that which Thou hast
revealed and we follow him whom Thou hast
sent. Enrol us among those who witness (to
the truth). [Al-Ma`idah 5:53]
Rab-bana a-man-na bima an-zalta wat-
tab’anar rasula fak-tub-na ma’ash-sha-hidin

16. 1212
Our Lord! Forgive us for our sins and wasted
efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us
victory over the disbelieving folk.
[Ali Imran 3:147]
Rab-ba-nagh-firlana dhu-nubana wa is-
rafana fi am-rina wa thab-bit aq-damana
wan-surna ‘alal qawmil kafirin

17. 1313Our Lord! Thou created not this in vain.
Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom
of Fire. [Ali Imran 3:191]
Rab-bana ma kha-laq-ta ha-dha batila
subhana faqina ‘a-dha-ban-nar

18. 1414
Our Lord! Whom Thou causest to enter the
Fire: him indeed Thou hast confounded. For
evil-doers there will be no helpers.

Rab-bana in-naka man tud-khi-lin nar
faqad akh-zaytah / wa ma lidh-dhalimina
min ansar

19. 1515Our Lord! Lo! we have heard a crier calling
unto Faith: "Believe ye in your Lord!" So
we believed. [Ali Imran 3:193]
Rab-bana in-nana sami’-na munadiyay
yunadi lil-i-mani an a-minu birab-bikum
fa-a-man-na

20. 1616
Our Lord! Therefore forgive us our sins, and
remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die
the death of the righteous.
[Ali Imran 3:193]
Rab-bana fagh-fir-lana dhu-nubana wa
kaf-fir ‘an-na say-yi-atina wa tawaf-fana
ma-’al ab-rar

21. 1717
Our Lord! And give us that which Thou hast
promised to us by Thy messengers. Confound
us not upon the Day of Resurrection. Lo!
Thou breakest not the tryst. [Ali Imran 3:194]
Rab-bana wa a-tina ma wa-’at-tana ‘ala
rusulika wa la tukh-zina yaw-mal qiyamah /
in-naka la tukh-liful mi-’ad

22. 1818Our Lord! We believe. Inscribe us as
among the witnesses. [Al-Maidah 5:83]
Rab-bana a-man-na fak-tub-na
ma-’ash sha-hidin

23. 1919
O Allah! Lord of us! Send down for us a table spread
with food from heaven, that it may be a feast for us,
for the first of us and for the last of us, and a sign
from Thee. Give us sustenance, for Thou art the Best
of Sustainers. [Al-Maidah 5:114]
Rab-bana an-zil ‘alay-na ma-i-datam minas
sama-i / takunu lana ‘i-dal li-aw-walina
wa a-khi-rina wa a-yatam min-ka
war-zuq-na wa an-ta khay-rur raziqin

24. 2020Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If
thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us,
surely we are of the lost! [Al-Araf 7:23]
Rab-bana dha-lam-na an-fusana
wa il-lam tagh-firlana wa tar-ham-na
lanaku-nan-na minal kha-sirin

25. 2121Our Lord! Place us not with the
wrongdoing folk. [Al-Araf 7:47]
Rab-bana la taj-’al-na ma-’al
qaw-midh dhalimin

26. 2222Our Lord! Decide with truth between us and
our folk, for Thou art the best of those
who make decision. [Al-Araf 7:89]
Rab-banaf-tah bay-nana wa bay-na qaw-
mina bil haq-qi wa an-ta khay-rul fatihin

27. 2323Our Lord! Vouchsafe unto us steadfastness
and make us die as men who have
surrendered (unto Thee). [Al-Araf 7:126]
Rab-bana af-righ ‘alay-na sab-raw wa
ta-waf-fana muslimin

28. 2424Our Lord! Oh, make us not a lure for the
wrongdoing folk; And, of Thy mercy, save us
from the folk that disbelieve. [Yunus 10:85-86]
Rab-bana la taj-’alna fit-natal lil qaw-
midh-dha-limin / wa naj-jina bi-rah-matika
minal qaw-mil kafirin

29. 2525
Our Lord! Lo! Thou knowest that which we
hide and that which we proclaim. Nothing in
the earth or in the heaven is hidden from
Allah.[Ibrahim 14:38]
Rab-bana in-naka ta’-lamu ma nukh-fi wa
ma nu’-lin / wa ma yakh-fa ‘alal-lahi min
shay-in fil ar-di wa la fis sama

30. 2626Our Lord! and accept my prayer.
[Ibrahim 14:40]
Rab-bana wa taqab-bal du-’a

31. 2727Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents and
believers on the day when the account is
cast. [Ibrahim 14:41]
Rab-banagh-fir-li wa liwa-liday-ya wa lil-
mu’-minina yaw-ma yaqumul hisab

32. 2828Our Lord! Give us mercy from Thy presence,
and shape for us right conduct in our plight.
[Al-Kahf 18:10]
Rab-bana a-tina mil-ladun-ka rahmah /
wa hay-yi’ lana min am-rina ra-sha-da

33. 2929Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be
beforehand with us or that he may play the
tyrant. [Ta Ha 20:45]
Rab-bana in-nana na-kha-fu ay-yaf-ruta
‘alayna aw ay yat-gha

34. 3030Our Lord! We believe, therefore forgive us
and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all
who show mercy. [Al-Mu’minun 23:109]
Rab-bana a-man-na fagh-fir-lana war-
ham-na wa an-ta khay-rur rahimin

35. 3131
Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of hell.
Lo! The doom thereof is anguish. Lo! It is
wretched as abode and station.
[Al-Furqan 25:65-66]
Rab-banas rif ‘an-na ‘a-dha-ba jahan-nam /
in-na ‘a-dha-baha kana gha-rama / in-naha
sa-at mus-ta-qar-raw wa muqama

36. 3232
Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our
wives and of our offspring, and make us
patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil).
[Al-Furqan 25:74]
Rab-bana hab lana min az-wa-jina wa
dhur-riy-yatina qur-rata ‘a-yuniw
waj-’alna lil-mut-taqina ima-ma

37. 3333Our Lord is Forgiving, Bountiful.
[Fatir 35:34]
Rab-bana la-gha-fu-run sha-kur

38. 3434Our Lord! Thou comprehendest all things in mercy
and knowledge, therefore forgive those who repent
and follow Thy way. Ward off from them the
punishment of hell. [Ghafir/Al-Mu`min 40:7]
Rab-bana wasi’-ta kul-la shay-ir rah-mataw wa ‘il-
man fagh-fir lil-la-dhi-na ta-bu wat-taba-’u
sabilaka wa qihim ‘a-dha-bal jahim

39. 3535
Our Lord! And make them enter the Gardens of Eden which
thou hast promised them, with such of their fathers and their
wives and their descendants as do right. Lo! Thou, only Thou,
art the Mighty, the Wise. And ward off from them ill-deeds; and
he from whom Thou wardest off ill-deeds that day, him verily
hast Thou taken into mercy. That is the supreme triumph.
[Ghafir/Al-Mu`min 40:8-9]
Rab-bana wa ad-khil-hum jan-na-ti ‘ad-nil-lati wa ‘at-tahum
wa man salaha min a-ba-ihim wa az-wa-jihim wa dhur-riy-
yatihim / in-naka an-tal ‘azizul hakim / wa qihimus say-yi-ati
wa man taqis say-yi-ati yaw-ma-i-dhin faqad rahim-tah / wa
dha-lika huwal faw-zul ‘a-dhim

40. 3636
Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who
were before us in the faith, and place not in
our hearts any rancor toward those who
believe. [Al-Hashr 59:10]
Rab-banagh fir-lana wa li-ikh-waninal la-
dhi-na sabaqu-na bil-i-mani wa la taj-’al fi
qulubina ghil-lal lil-la-dhi-na a-ma-nu

41. 3737Our Lord! Thou art Full of Pity, Merciful.
[Al-Hashr 59:10]
Rab-bana in-naka ra-u-fur-ra-him

42. 3838Our Lord! In Thee we put our trust, and unto
Thee we turn repentant, and unto Thee is the
journeying. [Al-Mumtahanah 60:4]
Rab-bana ‘alay-ka tawak-kal-na wa i-
lay-ka anab-na i-lay-kal ma-sir

43. 3939
Our Lord! Make us not a prey for those who
disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord! Lo!
Thou, only Thou, are the Mighty, the Wise.
[Al-Mumtahanah 60:5]
Rab-bana la taj-’al-na fit-na-tal lil-la-dhi-
na kafaru wagh-fir-lana rab-bana in-naka
an-tal ‘azi-zul hakim

44. 4040Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and
forgive us! Lo! Thou art Able to do all
things. [At-Tahrim 66:8]
Rab-bana at-mim lana nu-rana wagh-fir-
lana / in-naka ‘ala kul-la shay-in qadir

45. Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that
which they attribute (unto Him) And peace be unto
those sent (to warn). And praise be to Allah, Lord of
the Worlds! [As-Saffat 37:180-2]
Sub-ha-na rab-bika rab-bil ‘iz-zati ‘am-ma
yasifun / wa salamun ‘alal mur-salin / wal
hamdulil-lahi rab-bil ‘a-lamin
