3. The traditional Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, which has become a popular divination method. It provides guidance by
allowing us to tap into our intuitive consciousness and/or the spirit world.
Scholars like Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung had stressed the positive, creative aspect of our unconscious – intelligence
and knowledge that some believed were developed over many past lives. Most of us who believe in our spirituality or
higher self, concede that the answers to many questions in our lives lie in the unconscious where deep memories and a
profound awareness resides within each of us, but outside of our physical experience. We may never know the full
extent and power of our unconscious, we have develop tools to attempt to explore and tap into such intelligence.
These include psychotherapy, visualization, meditation and tools like the Tarot and runes.
The origins of the tarot is a mystery although we do know the wealthy has commissioned decorative cards in 15th
century Italy. Later in the 18th and 19th centuries, the cards were discovered by influential scholars of the occult such
A. E. Waite, who commissioned the Waite deck named after himself. Many new decks have since emerged with
beautiful artistic decks like the powerful Botticelli’s deck and the Shadowscapes deck. While the imageries differ,
many adopted the core meanings as prescribed by the Waite deck for specific card.
The images on the tarot cards can help us to gain fresh insights into our physical reality. Reading the tarot involves a
seeker – you- and a reader. The deck would first be shuffled and cut and then the cards laid out in a chosen spread.
Each position in the spread define a specific area of influence and each card has a meaning as well. The reader then
combines both meanings to shed light on the seeker's question.
The 78 cards of the tarot are divided into 22 major Arcana cards and 56 minor Arcana cards which are further divided
into four suits with each suit corresponds to one of the four elements: fire (wands), air (swords), earth (pentacles), and
water (cups). The major Arcana cards describe life’s journey from the beginning (the fool as a youth who sets on his
journey) to completion (the World). The court cards on the Minor Arcana may sometimes refer to an actual living
person who exerts influence on the querent’s concern.
4. About You Female Age: 30 Zodiac: Taurus
Your question I have not much luck with my job search. I would like to know what I should
do to improve my chances of securing a job.
The Deck Waite
The Spread Horseshoe spread – 7 cards
The Horseshoe spread is straightforward and is designed to answer specific
questions. Each position represents a distinct sphere of influence that
surrounds the question. It is a good spread to start with when the question is
specific with some ambiguity. With the insights from this reading, the querent
often can frame a more specific (and definitive) question which can then be
divined with a more comprehensive spread like the Celtic Cross as well as
choose a significator.
Significator No significator was used
Shuffling The cards were shuffled thrice and divided into three sub-decks. The second
sub-deck was used to draw out the seven cards with the first card drawn from
the top of the second sub-deck.
