Am I choosing from my ego or choosing from my soul?
1. Am I choosing from my ego or choosing from my soul?
“It’s now very important for me to know,
If I’m choosing from my ego or choosing from my soul,
For the seeds I now sow with heartfelt intention,
Will grow and blossom beyond all expectation!”
It’s 12-12-12! New moon coming around midnight PST too! As we empty ourselves of old
outworn limiting beliefs it may seem like all hell is breaking loose! We are each facing the
guardian on the threshold in our own unique way (look to see where 8 degrees of Sagittarius
falls in your chart for more info). So many deep changes from soul partnering marriages to
difficult separations. A good time to aim your intentions like the arrow in Archer’s bow and
prepare to let it fly! In-joy….. Kaypacha
The New Moon is on Thursday the 13th just after midnight Pacific Time.
In Sagittarius, you can pull within to look at higher philosophy, get ready for a party, or make a
pact to bring back the adventure to life. The Y-shaped “Yod” pattern that will be present at
winter solstice is forming now.
You get to restructure your life at the core level, and this drives you to take a risk on
yourself to open to a new and expanded field of possibilities.
The star Aldebaran (the bright eye of the bull of Taurus, and near the Pleiades) is aligned with
“take a risk on your beliefs” Jupiter now and through winter solstice. As one of the Royal Stars
of Ancient Persia, the challenge is to stand in your integrity and purity. This means that the
New Moon challenges you to go to a higher level, and to take the high road to get there.
Because this plugs into the fated Y-pattern, you know that it is out of your comfort zone but you
have to take a risk on yourself just the same. Success comes but you must stand in your
moral integrity.
As an example: Galileo had this in his natal chart when he was put under house arrest for telling
the church that the earth revolved around the sun, contrary to papal belief at the time. He chose

To thee self be true comes to mind!

New Moon in Sadge: It’s now been around two weeks since the Full Moon eclipse in Gemini.
How are you feeling about life? Hopefully it has settled down at last? And, if not, the New Moon
today is going to help you turn the page. I’m going to draw a card for anyone who reads this –
advice for making the most of the New Moon… Read on if you dare… This card tells you that you
are not as trapped as you feel. You are making an issue of things – but actually you are free.
Wherever you have been feeling like you can’t break away and do what you want, you’re being
asked by the Universe to remember you’re as free as you decide to be

If you feel deep stuff coming up today and through the weekend, there is an astrological
map to the territory. Note that the issues go back a long time and that you’re not alone.
Borrowing from Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting, it’s not your fault. Indeed, the concept
of fault is a big part of the problem, and self-blame is why the problem can seem so intractable.
Today’s Sagittarius New Moon takes us deep; it may shift your trajectory, and commence the
beginning of a healing process for you, one that may last for many years. It may also
represent a turning point in your existing healing journey, taking it to a new depth —
illustrated by Mercury in early Sagittarius square Chiron in Pisces.
This particular aspect (Mercury square Chiron) can feel like coming out of a long sleep and
awakening to the reality of your potential, your needs and the truth of your situation — which is
unlikely to be as challenging as you thought, as long as you admit the challenges that
actually do exist, and as long as you’re willing to deal with them.
Chiron is eminently fair in that it always offers multiple opportunities to commence and invest
yourself in the healing process before things fall apart. Each one of its invitations must be
taken in earnest. Often they are not, which is how problems compound.
If you have indeed been bypassing Chiron’s attempts to flag you down on an issue, this
territory, and the act of responding to the call to enter into it, may feel downright alien. (It may
still feel that way even if you have been listening to Chiron and taking action.)
The symbol for 22 Sagittarius is, “A Chinese laundry.” It initially struck me as one of the most
cryptic of the Sabians, despite its verbal simplicity. But Rudhyar elaborates: “Making use of
one’s special racial-cultural background in order to survive and prosper in an alien
environment.” In many families, opening up dialogue about old, dysfunctional patterns may
2/3
3. be a very alien environment, indeed — as might something less group-oriented, like embarking
on individual therapy for yourself.
If a potentially inconvenient message is asking for your attention this week, reflect as to whether
it is a new one — as well as how many times you’ve heard it before in some way, why
you’ve been passing the messages by, and how many more opportunities you think you
might get to address the issue.
As My sister Ana Maria says often…You can think about whether your going to CHOOSE to get
on the train or not, but once it left the station it’s too late, and the choice is made for you!
Perhaps your “racial-cultural background” could even be seen as your personal natal chart, and
the “alien environment” this current moment, with its provocative astrology and weird
apocalyptic obsession with the nearing Capricorn solstice. How can you use your incredible
uniqueness to your advantage as you navigate the New Moon and the following week? I think
Rudhyar’s final statement in the 22 Sagittarius entry may be the most useful: “What is asked
for is self-containment… and good humor!”
