This document analyzes the gender identity of the character Tara from a socio-psychological perspective. It discusses the sociological differences between males and females, highlighting issues like injustice and exploitation faced by girls. Psychologically, it examines Tara's experience with gender bias and how the character Chandan realizes the unfair treatment of Tara and that she deserves better. It also notes Bharti's nervousness about Tara's future due to traditions of patriarchal society and the misery caused by society's apathy towards her handicapped condition after separation from her family.
