Jesus went with his closest friends to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane before facing his trial and crucifixion. He was overcome with sorrow and asked his friends for support, but they failed him by falling asleep. Jesus prayed that God would take away his impending suffering, but affirmed God's will. His physical anguish intensified, as he took on the sins of humanity. Though let down by his friends and in deep darkness, Jesus triumphed by submitting to God's plan to sacrifice himself as the atoning cup of judgment for sin.

The document summarizes Bible passages about people who lived by faith, despite facing difficulties. It describes how the Israelites passed through the Red Sea and the falling of Jericho's walls by faith. It also mentions Rahab's faith despite her past and how other biblical figures like Gideon, Barak and Samson were victorious through faith, though imperfect. The document concludes that while these people of faith did not receive the full promise during their lives, God's plan was for believers today to be made perfect together with them through faith in Christ.
Moses refused the plans of Pharaoh and instead chose to identify himself with the people of God, enduring mistreatment and regarding reproach for Christ as greater than Egyptian riches. By faith, Moses persevered through many trials as he led God's people, seeing an unseen reward. He obeyed God by instituting the Passover, foreshadowing salvation through Christ's sacrifice.
By faith, Abraham obeyed God's call to leave his home and travel to the promised land, even though it meant becoming a stranger and outsider who lived in tents. His faith was focused on God's character and promise, causing him to obey despite the difficulties of waiting for God's promises to be fulfilled. The patriarchs like Abraham lived as examples of faith that pleased God, dying in faith before seeing the promises realized but assured in their hope through Jesus.
By faith we are sure of things we cannot see. The document discusses examples from Hebrews 11 of people who lived by faith: Abel offered worship to God by faith; Enoch walked with God by faith; and Noah built an ark by faith, even though he had never seen rain. It emphasizes that faith is not a leap in the dark, but having certainty in God and his promises, even without full understanding or reason. Faith leads believers to worship God and walk in obedience to his word.

1) Humans were created lower than angels but crowned with glory and honor, with everything under their feet, though this is not yet fully realized due to sin.
2) Jesus came as a human to identify with humanity, experience suffering and death, and provide purification from sins as a high priest.
3) Through Jesus' work, believers have been made holy, brought to glory, and set free from the fear of death, and Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
Paul traveled with companions as he journeyed toward Jerusalem. Along the way, he fellowshipped with believers and was urged by the Holy Spirit to continue on to Jerusalem, despite warnings of imprisonment, as Paul was determined to follow Jesus and share in his sufferings.

Paul and Silas take Timothy on a missionary journey, guided by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel in new lands. They travel with Luke, adding him to their missionary team. Though their plans change when the Spirit prevents them from entering certain regions, they obediently go where God calls them, ready to share the gospel with many people in new cities.
