Tahsin Mayeesha's undergraduate experience from 2015-2020 included studying computer science at the University of Waterloo in Canada and North South University in Bangladesh. Handling Academics and Self study ● Time management is essential. ● Setting specific learning goals >>> vague aspirations. ● Online curriculums available nearly any technical topics. ● Internships/research projects for additional structure. ● Community support e.g NSU ACM groups, IEEE groups, Robotics teams. ● Confidence is essential. ● Free resources available for nearly all technical topics in CSE.

Machine Learning Community in NSU ● Really broad, many teachers are actively researching. ● Opportunities for applying ML is available by collaboration from other fields e.g biomedical, HCI. ● Many alumnis are working in data engineering/data science in industry. ● Scope for going abroad is limited for all Bangladeshi graduates without skills, not an NSU issue. ● Not yet sure how to do the transition myself, masters/PhD followed by job search most popular route, for SWE contest programming----> job search more common.
- 33. Course choice ● Better to keep a mix of hard vs easy courses. ● Better to keep a mix of technical and non-technical courses instead of taking all the GED courses first. ● Self study is important regardless of faculty.
