T&A, Technics & Applications
Established in 1995, Technics & Applications has now become one of the leading manufaturers of
automatic pool covers in Europe. Situated in the North of Belgium, T&A produces 12 000 covers per
year distributed in more than 40 different countries. High quality pool covers make pools safer, reduce
energy consumption, keep pools warm and clean for longer and are aesthetically pleasing. With its
AquaTop brand, T&A offers the most extensive range of slatted covers on the European market. T&A
has a team of more than 100 employees which is renowned for its exceptional commitment to
quality and service.
Through years of experience, they have gained a tremendous expertise that they can draw from as far
as looking for solutions to new challenges is concerned. This makes T&A unique in the market. On top
of this there is a 20 000 m2
production and warehousing space with sufficient stock to keep the lead
times short and reliable.
In 2021, Waterland Private Equity invested in T&A to become the majority shareholder, with the clear
ambition to grow the business, both through organic initiatives and add-on acquisitions. Since
Waterland’s entry, T&A acquired 3 competitors and today, the turnover amounts to more than €70m
and double digit EBITDA..
Taking Turns has been appointed for the executive search for a CFO for Technics & Applications.

CFO
1. Active support to the CEO and the MT in operational and strategic topics
• Act as a sparring partner for the CEO, reporting on the financial performance of the company
and the progress made on key projects;
• Support in add-on acquisitions (e.g. financial DD, tax structuring, bank financing, integration
plan);
• Support management decisions with analyses, benchmarks and scenarios.
2. End responsibility finance
• Reporting
o Organize and coordinate the reporting and budgeting process;
o Definition and setup of monthly KPI reporting (operational, financial, ESG).
• Financial Management and accounting
o Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing;
o Consolidation;
o Tax optimization;
o Overseeing year-end audit;
o Optimize the financial, accounting and administrative processes.
• Cash & Debt Management
o Manage the company’s cash and debt position;
o Working capital management incl. prepayment & corresponding guarantees, credit
controlling, etc;
o Manage the bank relationships and negotiations on financing documentation
3. People Management
• Building, coaching and leading the accounting team (5 FTE’s);
• Inspire and motivating people, having strong communication skills.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
• Proven CFO (or Group controlling) experience with end responsibility on all core finance
functions (accounting, reporting, controlling, cash management, KPI reporting, …), or
relevant finance experience and ready for the next step to;
• Relevant academic Master’s degree (e.g. finance, accounting, MBA);
• Solid understanding of Belgian accounting standards;
• Proven track record in fast changing and complex environments;
• Successful working experience in SME companies (€20-€300m turnover);
• High degree of end responsibility and direct exposure to Exco / CEO / Board of directors
• Down-to-earth, pro-active and entrepreneurial mindset;
• Strong leadership and organizational skills;
• Track record in professionalizing of finance functions through implementation of new
reporting systems, ERP systems, setting up internal processes & procedures etc.;
• Ability to bridge finance with other key functions (operations, sales, HR, Strategy,…);
• Experience in a PE backed company is a plus;
• Fluent in English, Dutch and French. Other languages (esp. German) are a plus.
