Theresa Weil is a mixed media artist and art educator based in Portland, Oregon. For over 15 years, she has taught paper collage workshops for adults and run art residencies in schools. She creates paper collage portraits and assemblages using techniques like cut paper mosaic. Weil earned an associates degree in graphic design and is affiliated with several art organizations. She has exhibited her work extensively in the Portland area.

1. Mixed Media Art Educator (2009- present)
Educate young adults and adults in creative mixed media paper collage techniques in hands-on workshops created from
original curriculum. Incorporate specific techniques to enhance student understanding of art mediums. Collage instruc-
tion includes cut paper mosaic portraiture, 2D and 3D paper board assemblages and paper collage crafts. Collaborate
with workshop’s location liaisons in private, corporate and community settings to custom design and implement social
media, digital marketing, and online registration. Post finished student works and collections on social media on my blog

Selected as professional Artist-in-Residence for two prestigious non-profits, in rural and urban communities whose mis-
sion is to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts. Designed and created specific art curriculum
and workshops for secondary schools to achieve and impart understanding of art mediums, explore creativity and mentor
completion of an art project. Designed and implemented art residency working closely with classroom educators, volun-
teers and community leaders. Mentored students to project completions. Sourced and budgeted supplies for projects
in mediums including ceramics, mask making, print making, quilts, mixed media boxes, booklets and and self-portraits.

Mixed Media Artist (2000- present)
Professional mixed media artist with a career rooted in Oregon’s arts and culture for the last three decades of career. Create
works in various traditional and commercial mediums such as graphic design, ceramics, drawing, oil, acrylic and reverse
glass painting. These mediums are the foundation for current paper collage works. Create “assemblage art” that further
explores paper collage and paper board in two/three dimensional sculptural work. Commissions created for clients reflect
their surroundings, sensibilities and life. (See solo and group art exhibits on page 2)
Because SHE Cares: 24 Portraits of Oregon Women Non Profit Leaders In 2014: Developed mosaic technique of cut paper
collage and created this collection of twenty four portraits. Design and implemented social media, digital marketing and
online newsletter for the collection’s year long promotion in 2014. Created an inspirational video interviewing six of the
portrait honorees. See media links below and www.becauseshecares.org. The collection will be on exhibit at locations in
southwest Portland in the Fall of 2015 and in Eastern Oregon in the Spring 2016.
