Sam Newcomb is an artist based in Colorado Springs, Colorado who draws inspiration from nature and wildlife. She is known for her artwork depicting the rich colors and textures of her subjects using a combination of watercolor, gouache and color pencil. Sam has exhibited her art widely and won awards, and her artwork can be found in private residences across the United States. She studied art at Pikes Peak Community College and previously worked as a freelance illustrator.

1. rtist Sam Newcomb lives and works in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. Her primary source of inspiration, for her diverse
subject matter, comes from nature and wildlife. Her artwork is
characterized by depicting the rich colors and textures of her
subjects. Sam’s preferred media is a combination of watercolor,
gouache and color pencil.
Sam has exhibited her art in group exhibitions including the
Business of Art Center in Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak Watercolor
Society at the Cottonwood Arts Center and in the Boulder Street
Gallery in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Her art has won awards with Pikes Peak Community College,
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society.
You will find Sam’s artwork in many private residences across the
United States. She studied Design and Illustration with Rob
Olson at Pikes Peak Community College. After graduating from
PPCC Sam worked as a freelance Illustrator for Current, Inc. and
Walter Drake Publishing among other companies. She designed
and illustrated bookcovers and greeting cards. She is currently a
member of Pikes Peak Watercolor Society.
