Plants have a transport system consisting of xylem and phloem tubes that work together to move nutrients throughout the plant. Xylem tubes carry water and minerals from the roots to other parts like leaves and stems. Phloem tubes transport food made in the leaves to all parts of the plant like roots, stems, flowers and fruits to help the plant grow healthy. This transport system allows for the exchange of water, minerals and food between plant parts.
