EPBD - Energy Performance Building Directive.
40% of our total energy use are in buildings, therefore the EU has introduced a
legislation to ensure that the EU countries will consume less energy in buildings.
Long term strategy.
2012 shall all the EU countries include the energy efficiency standards.
2021 shall all buildings in EU fulfil “very high energy performance
standard”. Public sector will fulfil the requirement in 2019.
This means that this year the building process needs to start to change to
balanced ventilation with heat recovery, in all properties that will be built in
Europe.
