Swipe a Smile
For a dollar per swipe, you decide how your donation
is going to change someone’s life.

Swipe a Smile
 The idea of this app is to help towns in poverty  A dollar doesn’t seem like a big deal, but if you
stricken countries. actually think how many times a day you swipe
your card, it really could make a difference in
 With this app, if you choose to use it, you would
                                                              people’s lives.
choose a town/village, and every time you swipe
your credit/debit card, a dollar is donated to this  Let’s say that a family of four all use the app, and
community. let’s say they all swipe around 10 times a day.
                                                              That’s 40 dollars a day times 30 days in a month,
 The interesting part about it is that you control
bringing the grand total to approximately 1200
which area of need receives the money, whether it
dollars which goes very far for people who don’t
be food, clothing, shelter, or medicine.
have even the basic essentials that every person
                                                              should have.

                                                                      Nicole Finneran/Swipe a Smile 11/5/2012
Our Relationship to the Problem of Poverty
 I don’t personally know anyone who is homeless
or starving, nor do most of the people in our
    community I assume, so technically I don’t have a
personal relationship to the issue. However,
poverty and everything that comes with it is a
major global issue that can be solved, if not greatly
improved, if everyone literally just put their two
    cents in.
 Imagine if it was us, or a family member, friend, or
classmate, that was in this situation. Fortunately
for me it is not, but if it were, wouldn’t you want
to help? And if all it takes is a dollar here and
there, then why wouldn’t you do what you could
to help others who are so much less fortunate than
us, only because of where they happen to live?

                                                            Nicole Finneran/Swipe a Smile 11/5/2012
How it Works
 First of all, this would be a free app because why  Now I know that 10 dollars doesn’t
would you charge someone who is doing
something to change someone’s life? seem like a lot or enough to

contributing, it would truly make a

would like to contribute to, and then you become difference in the living conditions

 When you do swipe, you can go into the app and communities.
see day to day what your donation amount has
come out to and then manage where the money
    goes.
 You can choose whether it be put towards food,
    clothing, shelter, medicine.

Managing Your Donation

 So, you’ve been out all day and swiped your
    card 9 times.
 Now when you login, using your email and
password, you can see the amount of money
    that you are dealing with.
 Once you know the amount of money you
have to allot, you can put it all towards one
area, such as food, or you can split it up
    however you choose.

                                                    Nicole Finneran/Swipe a Smile 11/5/2012
