This report was presented by Adam Hanover on 19 May 2009 to Memphis City School (MCS) Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash and the Policy, Legislative, and Constituent Services Team led by Associate Superintendent Thelma Crivens.
The report advocates the application of the Community School model to the Memphis City School system and to the City of Memphis. The report analyzes the current environment in Memphis, a theoretical vision for the synergies between schools and the government, the various Community School models implemented throughout the United States, and how this idea can be realistically applied to Memphis.
Everyone wants their business to succeed in social media, and argue about measurement, but few actually offer any practical advice on how to succeed and what pitfalls to avoid. After watching this, you will walk away with 5 things you need to know to make this work for you.
Indiaโs Democracy is often referred as a โMiracle Democracyโ by the western press. No country has more heroically pursued the promise of democracy. Against the odds of staggering poverty, conflicting religious passions, linguistic pluralism, regional separatism, caste injustice and natural resource scarcity, corruption and social unrest. Indians have lifted themselves largely by their own sandal straps to become a stalwart democracy and emerging global power.
Inspite of all the achievements in the last 60 years, we the people in India grumble, criticize and blame the Government, the political & bureaucratic class, justice system, police and the sorts. This only indicates that, there is more to do and more refinements to bring in our democratic system. As a large democratic country, we do have problems. Most of our problems can be addressed by collaborative efforts between people to people, people to government, and people to corporate programs. The New Age interactive media; which is an amalgamation of web 2.0, social media, IPTV, Interactive Billboards, Mobile VAS, OOi Paper and Digital Signage has the potential to provide the necessary framework for interactions and make the collaboration productive, transparent and effective.
The lecture focuses on some of the initial thoughts, concepts of participatory democracy and how most of the current problems can be easily resolved with frameworks based on Interactive Media.

Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
ย
Monitoring and observability arenโt traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current companyโs observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumbleโฆ.many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
2. Key Words Explained:-
Sustainability - according to Wikipedia - www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainability = :
Sustainability is the capacity to endure. In ecology, the word describes how biological systems remain di-
verse and productive over time. Long-lived and healthy wetlands and forests are examples of sustainable
biological systems. For humans, sustainability is the potential for long-term maintenance of well being,
which has environmental, economic, and social dimensions.
Sustainable Development - according to Wikipedia -
www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_Development
Sustainable development (SD) is a pattern of resource use, that aims to meet human needs while pre-
serving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also for generations to
come (sometimes taught as ELF-Environment, Local people, Future). The term was used by the Brundtland
Commission which coined what has become the most often-quoted de๏ฌnition of sustainable development
as development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations
to meet their own needs."[1][2]
Sustainable Communities - according to Wikipedia -
www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_communities
Sustainable communities are communities planned, built, or modi๏ฌed to promote sustainable living. This
may include sustainability aspects relating to development, water, transportation, energy, and waste and
materials.[1] They tend to focus on environmental sustainability (including development and agriculture) and
economic sustainability. Sustainable communities can focus on sustainable urban infrastructure and/or sus-
tainable municipal infrastructure.
Communities - according to Wikipedia -
www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communities
In biological terms, a community is a group of interacting organisms sharing a populated environment. In
human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks, and a number of other conditions
may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness.
In sociology, the concept of community has led to signi๏ฌcant debate, and sociologists are yet to reach
agreement on a de๏ฌnition of the term. There were ninety-four discrete de๏ฌnitions of the term by the
mid-1950s.[1] Traditionally a "community" has been de๏ฌned as a group of interacting people living in a
common location. The word is often used to refer to a group that is organized around common values and
is attributed with social cohesion within a shared geographical location, generally in social units larger than
a household. The word can also refer to the national community or international community.

Origins of permaculture
Edible cities, Leeds, West Yorkshire
In the mid 1970โs two Australians - Bill Mollison & David Holmgren
- started to develop ideas that they hoped could be used to create
stable agricultural systems.
This was in response to the energy crisis and the rapidly growing use of
destructive industrial agricultural methods that were poisoning the
land and water, reducing biodiversity and removing billions of tones of
soil from previously fertile landscapes.
6. A design approach called โpermacultureโ was the result. In 1978 the
concept was launched with the publication of Permaculture One.
By the mid 1980โs many of the early students had become
successful practitioners and began teaching. In a short period of time,
permaculture groups, projects, associations and institutes were established
in over 100 countries.
www.permaculture.org.uk
Since then many thousands of people have been trained in cities and
the countryside, on small Scottish islands, and remote villages in Nepal,
!
as part of national programmes and by small groups setting up their
own courses.
Permaculture is a successful approach to designing
sustainable systems. It can be used in every climatic and
