A bomb had rendered the outside world uninhabitable except for one bunker that could sustain four people. As an assignment, students had to consider the supplies and each person's characteristics to decide which four would be spared in the bunker, while the others would be sent to their deaths. While the assignment was meant to encourage critical thinking, the student believes it is difficult to think critically in a group setting as the focus becomes pleasing others and reaching a group decision, rather than making an individual conclusion.

In this assignment, there was a bomb that had desecrated the outside. All the world was unlivable
except for one bunker that could only sustain four people. All the others were to be cast out onto
the unlivable Earth and sent to their deaths. The assignment was to consider the supplies that you
were given, consider each person carefully and decide which four would be spared in the bunker
and who would be sent out onto the Earth to their death.
Personally, I think that this assignment was not an assignment meant for critical thinking if you
are in a group. It is more about group work. I thought very critically about the assignment and
made my own conclusion based on personal beliefs, and my own imagination. When working in
a group, it is less about critical thinking and more about pleasing everyone in the group and
reaching a verdict.
