Life is inspiring, but we are we inspired or...expired? This presentation is an introduction to the inspiration cycle. Inspiration is the starting point of creativity, innovation and motivation and it consists of one of the fundamental ingredients for well-being, success and long-term growth.
The document describes the process of designing an animated Cheshire Cat character for the North Carolina State Fair. It involved illustrating the cat in Adobe Illustrator with separate layers for the head, body, tail, and color wheel. The head was created using the pen tool and filled with color picked from a reference image. The striped body and pawed were also made with the pen tool. The tail was a simple curve and the color wheel was an asterisk blended with colors. After printing the cut pieces on thick paper, they were assembled and presented to the client for the animated cat project.

Automate Insurance Forms Processing to Gain Operational Efficiencies and Ena...Captricity
Captricity presents a solution to automate insurance forms processing using machine learning and crowdsourcing techniques. Their solution involves setting up document templates, uploading forms, sorting documents into the correct templates, extracting fields using "shredded" single data pieces reviewed by workers, and delivering the processed data. This allows insurers to gain efficiencies over manual processing while also enabling analytics on large amounts of historical policy data. Captricity claims their solution reduces costs and speeds up response times compared to traditional data entry methods.
Unlocking the Data in Paper - Strata+Hadoop World 2015 Captricity
Enterprise data grows over 65% a year. Last year, non-productive information work—reformatting, data entry, and so on—consumed more than US$1.5 Trillion. Yet companies continue to pour billions into human-driven paper-to-digital processes.
The reason is simple: paper works. It’s simple, and it carries most of an organization’s data. Yet fast, correct extraction of data from paper is essential, particularly for heavily regulated industries such as insurance or government.
Captricity CEO Kuang Chen talks about New York Life’s work to better scale digitization across its forms while improving data quality and turnaround times.
The document discusses effective delegation in organizations. It notes that delegation allows managers to focus on other initiatives while developing employees. The benefits of delegation include increased productivity, flexibility, trust and morale. However, delegation often fails when managers do not follow steps to define tasks clearly, communicate expectations, and provide feedback. The key is for managers to delegate responsibilities appropriately while maintaining accountability. Overall, the document advocates that delegation, when done correctly, can improve outcomes for individuals, teams and entire organizations.
This newsletter from the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society provides information about their upcoming meeting and events. The July 3rd meeting will be held at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery and feature a talk on measuring earth's radiation belts with CubeSats. The newsletter also lists local astronomy resources and upcoming astronomical events, such as viewing the international space station launch and stories from the far side of the moon. It encourages members to share photos and stories and provides information on renewing membership.
This document discusses theological reflection (TR) as a process of exploring personal and shared experiences in dialogue with religious traditions. It presents TR as having three parts - experience, feelings/images, and insights - aimed at gaining new understanding and discerning action. The goal of TR is to move beyond rigid views of tradition or experience alone, and to allow tradition to both challenge and expand how we understand our lives through open exploration. The document provides guidance on navigating each part of the TR process, emphasizing attentiveness to experience, feelings, images and discernment of insights and action through questioning themes from religious heritage.
