Superheroes have helped reduce crime in New York City (NYC), with crime rates lower than in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Detroit. However, superheroes need help being in the right locations to fight crime more efficiently. Researchers gathered requirements from superheroes and the NYC police to develop a crime dashboard. The dashboard allows users to filter crime types, times of day, and locations to help superheroes optimize their time and placement to reduce costs from crime. While predictability may only approximate possible future crimes, color-coding by borough helps isolate crime in a superhero's neighborhood.

Context: Curiosity and Purpose
The purpose of this report is to explore the justifications for capital punishment as one of the ways used by the criminal justice system in punishing convicts and providing justice to the victims of capital offenses. There are two curiosities that we identified as very fundamental in exploring this report.
Curiosity #1: What is the level of deterrence on capital offenses?
We were curious to look at how capital punishment helps in the deterrence of capital offenses. The level of deterrence could be measured by using data on the history of the occurrence of capital offenses to date. This curiosity originated from the realization that there were few cases of capital offenses reported on the media platforms within Texas.
Curiosity 2: What is the safety of the society from capital offenders?
We were curious on exploring the level of safety in the society when members of the public understand that the criminals have been removed from the general public and they will not come back to the society again. The safety of the general public can be determined from the dimensions of business activities during late hours, outdoor activities and the number of people using active means of transport. An increase in these dimensions reveal an increase in the level of safety that is experienced by the general public as a result of the removal of capital offenders from the society.

People: in this report, the stakeholders include the newspaper which is an independent newspaper with independent views and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice which will help in providing vital data. The audience of this report includes the general public who would like to understand how capital offense deters others from committing crime and how it ensures the safety of the society.

This project analyzed the spatial distribution of property crime in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia in 2013. Property crime data from the RCMP was geocoded and mapped by community, season, time of day, and socioeconomic variables. Statistical analysis found correlations between crime and factors like lone parent households and population density. Hot spot analysis identified clusters of crime. The results can help the RCMP understand crime patterns and allocate resources more efficiently to reduce property crime. Limitations included geocoding accuracy and maintaining data confidentiality.

The primary goal of criminological theory is to improve one’s understanding of crime and criminal justice. In simplest terms, crime is the violation of formal and informal laws that govern all people and enhance peace and unity within society. Crime can be outlined based on the main assumptions of the consensus view, conflict view, and interactionist view. The consensus view of crime outlines crime as a basic wrong behavior believed to be severely unacceptable or distasteful in many factors related to society. Besides, the conflict view of crime is a perception of crime as the result of social inequalities and economic approaches benefiting a section/segment of society (Zara & Farrington, 2015). Conflict theorists believe that a certain segment of society; for instance, the capitalist class makes laws designed for self-benefits at the expense of other populations.
Furthermore, the interactionist view of crime demonstrates society as the product of daily social interactions between people. People are capable of creating the meaning of life through their individual interactions with each other. Crime is one of the local and international problems that affect peace and unity amongst societies. Offense starts at the local levels where people conflict with each other for individual or group interests and extends to the international level where terrorist organizations fight against each other or the general public.

Crime has been reported in all states of the US and other regions across the world in different forms. For instance, the two current measures of wrongdoing include violent and property crimes. A violent crime occurs almost every day in the United States in the form of homicide, rape, assault, pickpocketing and purse snatching, and robbery. Pulling Levers is program that attacks the problem of gun violence head on
Pulling Levers includes problem-oriented policing strategies that follow the core principles of deterrence theory. The strategies target specific criminal behavior committed by a small number of chronic offenders, such as youth gang members or repeat violent offenders, who are vulnerable to sanctions and punishment. The Pulling Levers Program is very Promising for reducing crime.

The primary goal of criminological theory is to improve one’s understanding of crime and criminal justice. In simplest terms, crime is the violation of formal and informal laws that govern all people and enhance peace and unity within society. Crime can be outlined based on the main assumptions of the consensus view, conflict view, and interactionist view. The consensus view of crime outlines crime as a basic wrong behavior believed to be severely unacceptable or distasteful in many factors related to society. Besides, the conflict view of crime is a perception of crime as the result of social inequalities and economic approaches benefiting a section/segment of society (Zara & Farrington, 2015). Conflict theorists believe that a certain segment of society; for instance, the capitalist class makes laws designed for self-benefits at the expense of other populations.
Furthermore, the interactionist view of crime demonstrates society as the product of daily social interactions between people. People are capable of creating the meaning of life through their individual interactions with each other. Crime is one of the local and international problems that affect peace and unity amongst societies. Offense starts at the local levels where people conflict with each other for individual or group interests and extends to the international level where terrorist organizations fight against each other or the general public.
What are the current trends in the crime rate?
Crime has been reported in all states of the US and other regions across the world in different forms. For instance, the two current measures of wrongdoing include violent and property crimes. A violent crime occurs almost every day in the United States in the form of homicide, rape, assault, pickpocketing and purse snatching, and robbery. All these acts are not justified in the US constitution as they tamper with human peace, security, and safety. Besides, property crime includes burglary or trespassing, theft of property or cash, and motor vehicle theft. To further analyse crimes’ datasets, the paper introduces an analysis study by combining our findings of Denver crimes’ dataset with its demographics information in order to capture the factors that might affect the safety of neighborhoods. Pulling Levers is program that attacks the problem of gun violence head on
Pulling Levers includes problem-oriented policing strategies that follow the core principles of deterrence theory. The strategies target specific criminal behavior committed by a small number of chronic offenders, such as youth gang members or repeat violent offenders, who are vulnerable to sanctions and punishment. The Pulling Levers Program is very Promising for reducing crime.
Corsaro and colleagues (2012) found that the High Point (N.C.) Pulling Levers had a statistically significant impact on reducing violent incidents in the target areas. Targeted census blocks (treatment group) experienced a 7.9 percent decrease in violent crime
Analysis
In the US this program is currently implemented in the following cities: Oakland, Chicago, Rockford, Indianapolis, Boston, Philadelphia, Nashville and the closest being in High Point/NC
This program has been proven to work in all of these cities having an impact on gun violence and drug related crimes
So all though Pulling levers is implemented in High Point, why is it not in our big cities where crime rates are high as well?
One of the highest rated cities for crime in NC is Durham and so far they do not have a program like Pulling Levers to combat gun violence and other crime that stems from impoverished areas.
