FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER (29-4-2018)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. Since many people will be going for holidays, during the month of May, from coming Sunday, 6th May
onwards, there will be no Sunday morning 8.15 children’s mass. Rest of the mass schedule will be as
usual.
2. This year’s R.C.I.A. Catechetical programme, conducted by the Diocesan Catechetical Centre will start
on 1st June 2018 and the last date of admission will be 15th July 2018. For further details please meet
Fr Henry.
3. For admission details of various higher education courses, please refer to the notice board. Families
finding difficulty to pay the fees may approach parish priest for the help from parish higher education
fund.
4. During the vacation time, Sunday liturgy animation is open, means, not allotted community wise. Any
parishioners interested to proclaim the Word of God may come 10 minutes before and practice your
readings. Do not wait for the Sacristan to approach you at the last moment.
5. Bishop Barthol Baretto has sent a circular inviting parishioners for the peace gathering in solidarity with
all the victims of injustice and violence. This peace gathering is being organised at the deanery level on
coming Tuesday, 1st May, a public holiday from 6 to 7 in the evening at the St Francis Xavier High
school quadrangle, Vile Parle. Bishop has asked to encourage parishioners to participate in this
gathering and also bring people of other faiths. Bishop’s message has been already circulated in the
WhatsApp groups. See the hard copy on the notice board.
6. Perhaps you know, Ms Carol D’Souza, the Head Mistress of Infant Jesus secondary section has retired
this year. In her place, the Archdiocesan Board of Education-ABE has approved the appointment of the
new principal Ms Lilliya Fernandes. On behalf of the parish team, parishioners, parents, stafff and
students our sincere thanks to Carol D’Souza for her faithful service to the Infant Jesus school as a
teacher for 36 years and as principal for the last 4 years. We wish all the best for Lilliya Ms the new
principal who will take over from the new academic year 2018-19.
