The Fairfield Historical Society is hosting its 7th Annual Sun Bonnet Days on August 1st and 2nd from 1-5pm each day at the Elisha Morgan Mansion at Gilbert Farm Park. Activities include a vintage baseball game played by the Belle River team each day at 2pm, exhibits of memorabilia from Fairfield's first mayor and Cincinnati Reds player Joe Nuxhall, and tours of the mansion and heritage gardens.

Fairfield will celebrate the 7th
Annual Sun Bonnet Days
Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2015
with a variety of activities from 1-5:00p.m. each day.
All events are free and will take place at the Elisha
Morgan Mansion at Gilbert Farm Park.
Young and old alike can learn the origins of baseball
and witness how it was played without Astroturf,
padded gloves and protective gear thanks to players
from the Belle River vintage baseball team. Belle River
will be playing an old-fashioned baseball game each
day beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Special exhibits inside the Morgan mansion will feature
memorabilia from Fairfield’s first mayor, Robert Wessel
and former Cincinnati Reds pitcher and broadcaster Joe Nuxhall.
There will also be tours of the Elisha Morgan Mansion and the Heritage Gardens that surround
the home that has withstood the test of time for over 160 years.

was taken circa 1962 on Dixie Highway at Gilmore Road looking north. The motel sign is
located where White Castle is today. Try to guess the location of the photo on the right! The
answer will be provided in the fall edition of Cornerstones.
The Belle River vintage baseball team will be
in town to play at 2p.m. both days.
