During a summer internship in 2013, the author met a foreign friend named Mary from the US. Though they struggled to communicate verbally due to differences in English and Chinese language abilities, they were able to connect through body language and spending time together. The author showed Mary around sites of interest on weekends, and Mary enjoyed learning about Chinese culture and found Chinese people to be friendly and hard working. By the end of the internship in August when Mary returned to the US, the two had formed a cherished friendship and the author was invited to visit America in the future.

1. Summer Internship Lets me Know A Good Foreign Friend
I attend to summer internships 2013,in my summer internship company,I know many
friends including a foreign friend,Marry.She is a beautiful and lovely girl.She comes to
China to join in the Summer Camp,and she is so glad to have a chance to have a
summer internship in China.She knows a little Chinese and my spoken English is just
so so.
We communicate with each other with body language when it’s difficult in English.I’m
amazed that body language is a magic language and it adapts to all people in the
world.We improve our language ability,and we have meals together.At weekend,I show
her around some places of interest .She likes Chinese culture,It’s different from
American culture.She thinks Chinese people are friendly and hard working.In
August,she will leave China for USA.I cherish our friendship very much and she is so
kind and friendly to invite me to travel in America.She thinks this summer internship is
very meaningful and colourful.And she didn’t forget the internship in China trip.
