POWER MASTERY - The Power To Create Your Own Destiny!
Take responsibility for your own life by learning to master your emotions, resources, relationships, and create your own destiny and success today!
Branding and Marketing are important subjects not just in the sales industry, but also in personal improvement and development. This is a 2 Day training program developed by persuasion and influence strategist and trainer Glenn Lim.
Organizations can be obsessed with speed. Invariably, the questions get asked, “What is our velocity or throughput? How can we go faster?”
Software development organizations are knowledge work organizations, and they require different thinking about their primary constraint. In this session, we will explore better learning as a method to improve software development outcomes.
Understanding the ephemeral nature of tacit knowledge helps us optimize for focus and flow. But poor tacit knowledge management leads to knowledge transfer rework and suboptimal team performance.
Selecting team activities and techniques that encourage double loop learning is critical for organizational learning and improvement.
In knowledge work, improved learning enables effective execution through organizational improvement. Without learning, speed just becomes a lot of wasted motion.
Learning Outcomes:
-Tacit knowledge is the "knowledge of the moment", and must be acted upon before it decays.
-High work-in-process environments cause tacit knowledge decay and rework.
-Double Loop learning occurs when the larger organization learns through questioning of it's own values and assumptions.
-Agile ceremonies and methods are more effective when they enable both single and double loop learning.
-Learning is more than how our brains work. Learning is how organizations improve.
Introduction: Are you a Manager or a Leader? Susan Hillyard
This introductory workshop for coordinators and heads of departments, compares new leadership skills with old management skills in the administrative office. We will look at existing structures and consider the current calls for change in educational settings. We will analyse the needs of organizations, the nature of the change process and question to what extent you and your school are on the change-ready paradigm. We will examine a number of theories through the reflective process and look at the notion of creative leadership. The thrust is on forging sound relationships through listening, developing a system of effective communication and modelling natural authority rather than authority by position.

This document discusses the growth mindset versus a fixed mindset. It outlines three key mindset traits: how one wants to appear to others, responding to setbacks, and views on talent versus effort. Those with a growth mindset focus on learning at all costs, see setbacks as opportunities to learn, and believe effort is key to success rather than innate talent. The document provides strategies for cultivating a growth mindset in students and teachers, such as praising effort over ability, using the language of "yet" when students struggle, and building in time for improvements with feedback. The overall goal is to develop independence, resilience, and continual improvement in learning.
1) The document discusses how to achieve goals and be successful in selling through passion. It emphasizes conditioning a positive attitude each day and focusing on solutions rather than problems.
2) It recommends setting clear, visual goals and surrounding yourself with successful people. Goals should be focused on personal achievement and enjoyment of the process.
3) The document provides tips on goal-setting including writing how achieving a goal would feel and believing in the goal. It stresses the importance of attitude over skills for long term success.
This document discusses culture shaping for leaders and change agents. It asserts that culture comes primarily from leadership and the small actions and behaviors they model each day. Leaders shape culture through their vision and goals, by going first in adopting changes, how they invite and listen to others, the language they use, storytelling, inspiring curiosity and joy, creating safety, and modeling desired behaviors. Mindfulness, determination, and reflecting on strengths and weaknesses can help leaders effectively shape their organizational culture.

Altogame is a virtual gaming platform created by Eija and Olli-Pekka Mäkirintala to facilitate brainstorming and problem solving in distributed teams. The platform includes two games - Lateral Gallery for innovation and Agile Avenue for agile implementation. Players enter a virtual space to play roles, generate new ideas, and practice skills without real-life limitations. Evaluations found the games enabled more new ideas to be created than traditional meetings and improved engagement levels. The founders designed Altogame to combine the benefits of in-person and virtual collaboration.

The presentation encourages shifting perspective from filling open jobs to understanding what progress employees seek to make. It provides questions to better understand employee needs holistically and examine how well a company supports different types of progress.

Improvisation is not just something for comedians. Entrepreneurs to MBA students are taking improv classes. The reason is the same for why educator leaders should be trained: improv's root is in communication. Even the basic improv principle of “yes, and” is the idea behind inquiry based education. Improv builds confidence, listening, responding skills and collaboration. It is all about the moment, the right now – essential to active communication. We'll explore this together and reflect on application to practice and the life of the TOSA.
