The Stutz Motor Car Company plans to unveil a new line of luxury electric vehicles and hybrids within the decade. Some of their upcoming models include the all-electric Bearcat EVO, which can go from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds with a 150-mile range, and the Blackhawk Rogue SLS/H hybrid luxury sport sedan with high-tech features. In the past, Stutz was known for producing gas-guzzling cars that appealed to many celebrities in the 1970s. However, the company now aims to build upon its legacy and adapt to modern times by introducing eco-friendly high-performance vehicles.

1. Stutz Motor Car Company Plans EV, Hybrid and Luxury<br />Frank Sinatra wanted the first one from the new line of production but Elvis Presley got it, bought several more and even road it on the day of his death. The car appealed to many celebrities of the early seventies and the list of owners included Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis Jr., Lucille Ball, Billy Joel, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Evil Knievel, Al Pacino, Dean Martin, Paul McCartney and, of course, Frank Sinatra. The car was the Stutz Blackhawk which was revived in the style of General Motor's Pontiac Grand Prix.<br />In the days of the gasoline shortage when cars were lining up for gas, the Stutz Blackhawk was a big gas guzzler of 8 miles to the gallon. However, this did not stop the rich and famous from their desires to own the V8 engine and GM's automatic transmission. <br />There isn't a single car collector in the United States or the world who has not heard about the notorious Stutz Bearcat and the hallmark historical legends about the car too. For example, it was a bicycle repairman who built the first Stutz back in 1898 and seven years later was in production of a four cylinder engine called the quot;
Touristquot;
car. In later years, six and eight cylinder engines would be built and listed on the New York Stock Exchange at an unbelievable price for its time of $100 per share.<br />By the time the Stutz Bearcat set the record breaking speed of 107 miles per hour in Daytona Beach, the car also went on to claim the first ever built dual cam shaft 32 valve engine. Unfortunately, the Great Depression hit and closed the doors of the Stutz Motor Car Company of America (SMCCA) in 1934. <br />Three decades past and then the Stutz Motor Company was revived again by James O'Donnel, an investment banker and Virgil Exner, a car designer of Chrysler/Bugatti. Together they unleashed the Blackhawk in 1971 and the Stutz Royal Limousine in 1976. The price of the Stutz limousine was over half a million dollars, the highest price car of its day. Stutz continued to build cars with all kinds of luxuries such as a writing desk and a color TV. It even built an armored car called the Gazelle Defender which included a roof-mounted machine gun under a sliding hatch.<br />All this has changed in 2010 as Stutz Motor Company is about to unveil its new line of luxury cars that include electric vehicles and hybrid cars. Still in the planning stages but within the decade, the all new Bearcat EVO all electric car will be launched with a speed of 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and a range of 150 miles. The Bearcat EVO will also be rechargeable within two hours. The Stutz Blackhawk Rogue SLS/H will also be a super luxury sport sedan with all the latest electronic, audio/visual communications, computer accessories and even massage therapeutic seats. Stutz cars will become collectors' items and a household name of the 21st century. <br />
