This document outlines the itinerary and objectives of a study visit to Poznan, Poland from September 6-10, 2011 organized by Social Enterprise Northwest and Chara Trust. Twelve participants will visit social economy centers and cooperatives to gain insight into their development and operation. The visit includes workshops on establishing social cooperatives and visits to existing cooperatives and a social integration center. Participants will stay at a social cooperative hotel and visit other social enterprises, with the goal of inspiring them to create similar initiatives in their home countries. Transportation, translation, accommodation and meals are provided through various supporting organizations.

Objectives of Visit :
 Gain insight into the Social Economy Sector, Social Integration Centres
 Gain understanding of how Social Cooperatives are developed, established and operated
 Visit Social Economy and Social Cooperative Centres
The visit will include active learning workshops on the development of social coops.
At the end of the visit it is hoped that participants will be inspired to consider the formation of Social
Cooperatives and Enterprises like:
 African-Caribbean Women’s Credit Union
 Social Enterprise Café and Catering (Good African Cafe)
 Repair-Recycle-Reuse Social Enterprise – white goods and furniture recycling.
 Facilities Management and Cleaning
 Social Enterprise Bed and Breakfast (a Le Mat type franchising model)
 Ink recycling and manufacturing franchise
 Health and Social Care
