Nazi concentration camps Three of the most famous Nazi concentration camps were also located in Poland: Belzec, Treblinka and Auschwitz- Birkenau. Nobel Prize Lech Walesa, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983.The country has had multiple winners in the literature category, with Henryk Sienkiewicz winning the award in 1905 and Wislawa Szymborska winning in 1996.

33. Visa
As a general rule you need a visa to enter
Poland. There are, however, a number of
countries that are free of this requirement.
Poland is a part of the Schengen zone, so you
can apply for a Polish visa and travel all around
Europe (excluding the United Kingdom, Ireland,
Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and states
outside of the EU).
There are several types of visas to choose from:
“A” type
“C” type
“D” type

APPLICANTS:
Studies: An applicant going for the purpose of studying to Poland and
applying for 1 year national visa should prove the possession of 12 100
PLN (12*800+2500) or equivalent in other currencies (in addition to the
university or college fee).
a. the application form filled in online at www.e-konsulat.gov.pl in Polish or English
language, printed out and signed by the applicant
b. original passport/travel document with copies of the
first/last/observation/correction pages
c. One (1) photograph in accordance with the standards.

35. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED BY ALL VISA
APPLICANTS:
Additional documents:
A. Journeys undertaken for the purpose of study, research, or other types of internship:
- Certificate of admission or registration at an educational establishment for the purpose of attending
academic or vocational courses, or cover letter from the inviting company;
- Student cards or certificates of the current enrolled institute;
- Copies of educational certificates and bio-data;
- Proof (copy) that the educational establishment has the right to grant the academic title for the particular
program offered to the candidate (Bachelor, Master, Doctor of Philosophy, etc… with the certificate number
and the name of the faculty/program in Polish and in English) given by the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education in Poland;
- If the study, training or research programme is to be paid for by the applicant:
a. the receipt confirming that the fee for the whole programme was paid (in case of studies longer than 1
year the payment has to cover the first year of studies) or
b. the proof of financial means in the amount necessary to cover the cost of the programme as mentioned
in
the certificate of admission.
Please note:
The most recent educational certificate should be apostilled/legalized.
The PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) and Medical Certificate are no longer required.
36. 5 easy steps to get a visa:
1) Find a Polish consulate that can process you application. you can use the
MFA’s search engine:
http://mfa.gov.pl/en/travel_to_poland/polands_missions_abroad/polish_missi
ons_ abroad.
2) 2) Read carefully ALL the information concerning visa application on the
consulate’s website and follow ALL the instructions.
3) 3) Set a visa appointment with the consulate. In most cases you will have to
register through the website: http://www.e-konsulat.gov.pl.
4) 4) Prepare the necessary documents including: application form, travel
document (passport), biometric photo, health insurance, sufficient means to
support yourself, documents confirming the purpose of your stay. The
specifics of the required documentation may vary among consulates, so
confirm them with the consulate’s website.
5) 5) Submit all the documents including a printed and signed application form
and the visa fee. Your visa application is complete. It will take up to 15 days
