the board is turning on the lights for

This Strategic Partnership
demonstrates St. Francis'
commitment to patient care
throughout the region. At the same
time, it allows Valley to open the new
Women's Health/OBGYN Care
Unit. "Our partnership with Valley Healthcare is an extension of St.
Francis' goal to reduce the rate of infant mortality and low birth weight
babies in our community, a goal that Valley Healthcare shares." said
Robert Granger, St. Francis Hospital President and CEO. "Through
collaboration, both organizations and the community will benefit."
As part of this partnership, Dr. Kamesha M. Fair Harbison joined the staff
at Valley Heathcare from her home town of Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Fair
Harbison has a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Med from Xavier

College of Medicine. She completed her residency in
Obstetrics/Gynecology at Mercer University: Medical Center of Central
Georgia.
"Valley Healthcare System is a comprehensive healthcare facility" states
Dr. Fair Harbison,"our model for health care includes the integration of
behavioral health and primary care as
a means for providing quality care all
under one roof." Dr. Fair Harbison's
husband is Edward Harbison, Jr. They
were married on May 31, 2014 at the
Rivermill in Columbus, GA.
Currently, Valley Healthcare serves

this new partnership and over the next
two years, an additional 2,410 women
will be treated in prenatal care

annual physical checkups. The
Women's Health Unit officially first
celebrated prenatal care services on May 13, 2014 with the arrival of
twins by a mother under Dr. Fair Harbison's care.

Dear Mrs. Lang,
I've been a patient at Valley since 2003. I was referred to
them by a doctor at the Medical Center on one of my stays,
because of my financial situation and no insurance. I suffer
from severe COPD, chronic bronchitis ... depression and high
blood pressure.
Valley provides me access to doctors and medications that
otherwise I could not afford. I greatly appreciate the kind
and caring people that I have grown to depend on many of
whom goes above and beyond the call of duty.
I pray that Jesus will acknowledge their many acts of
kindness by continuing His works through them for they are
truly some of God's angels!
So Very Blessed,

"America's Health Centers - Local Engines for
Healthier Communities."
Health Centers nationally save the healthcare community over $24 billion
annually including $6 billion in savings to the Medicaid Program. Valley
Healthcare System eases the burden on financially stressed Columbus
hospitals and emergency rooms by providing services that are lower in
cost than the average hospital visits of $17,089. In 2013 alone, Valley
Healthcare saved the community an estimated $5,002,165 in health care

dollars.
Columbus is fortunate to have Valley Healthcare System. They are the
only Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the region and as a
result, cannot turn anyone away for services. Without this designation,
Columbus would have lost over $2,000,000 of federal health care funds
in 2013. This covered 67% of our costs leaving $1,379,221 to be made
up from other sources.
