To Whom It May Concern:
The following is a letter of recommendation for Terence Digan. This is a letter based on
his undeniable merit, commitment and achievement.
Terence first came to my attention during our first week of preproduction on the Comedy
Bang Bang! set. I was grabbing a quick cup of coffee when I overheard him talking about film
with some other production people. He spoke with such earnest reverence and passion that I had
to be involved. He was working in production so the conversation was quickly paused to see if
he could help facilitate anything. “Nope, I just want to talk about it too!” His enthusiasm for
visual storytelling was inspiring then as it continues to be now. And he is always a no-nonsense
hard worker first.
Attitude and Ethic: Terence was amongst the first to volunteer for a task and would
perform it with positive efficiency. He was ALWAYS present and focused on the task at hand.
As a director my most frustrating times on set are when I feel that ‘the wheels have fallen off”
i.e.: the crew is distracted, unfocused preoccupied…NEVER Terence. He is always in the zone.
Focused on the job, passionate about the work, and happy to be a part of the process.
As a USC Cinema graduate Terence has a world-class introduction to the history and
foundation of filmmaking. He uses this knowledge to inform his work on set. Never parroting
tired factoids, but rather utilizing knowledge of a collaborative art form to demonstrate the
importance of working efficiently with others.
By my count Terence has worked with me on twenty episodes of television. Our days are
long and demanding. 12 – 16 hours four days a week with a fifth prep day, which is often just as
demanding as production. And he handled each day with aplomb, which is more than I can say
for myself on several occasions.
Long story short: Hire Terence if you want someone who makes problems go away, who
works well autonomously as well as in a group and who comes back to set each day, reset,
pleasant, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
We’ll all be working with Terence in Hollywood for a long time, might as well invest in a
great guy now.
Email me or call with any questions.
