7. SOUTH CAROLINA
STATE MUSEUM
Stevens & Wilkinson restored
the former 1893 Columbia Mills
Building, the first hydro-electric
powered cotton mill in the U.S.,
into one of the largest state
museums in the Southeast.
10. RICHLAND LIBRARY
Since its inception, Richland
Library has been considered by
community leaders as one of the
most significant structures built in
the Columbia area in the last 50
years.
The library now houses more
than 750,000 volumes.

MUSEUM OF ART
This former Macy’s department
store, built in the late 1960’s, is
now home to the internationally
recognized Columbia Museum of
Art.

storefront plaza into a

Originally renovated by the
firm in the late 1990’s, the TD
Bank Building, a former Belk’s
Department Store, is a seven-
story “Class A” speculative office
building with a garden level
terrace, hardscaped plaza and
spacious main lobby area.

STATE HOUSE
Hailed as one of the state’s most
iconic structures, this 150-year-old
landmark is a cultural “must-see”
and features key renovations of
the Senate and House chambers.

BUILDING
Located in the heart of
downtown Columbia’s
Central Business District,
the Meridian is a 17-story,
350,000-square-foot “Class A”
office tower with an adjoining
parking garage.

HEADQUARTERS
Located in the Central Business
District of downtown Columbia,
this seven-story structure steps
up to nine floors at the corner
while hugging the property line.

By highlighting the
architectural style of the
surrounding area, the
design team reinforced the
visual axis southward to
the South Carolina State
House.

AUDITORIUM
Stevens & Wilkinson, in
association with Craig Gaulden
Davis Architecture, recently
restored the historic Township
Auditorium, known as one of
the region’s premiere event and
concert venues.

Stevens & Wilkinson’s engineering
team completed the electrical,
mechanical, structural, and civil
design of the University of South
Carolina’s prestigious Darla
Moore School of Business.

approach to housing,

student life programs
combined into an intense,
innovative and dynamic
mixed-use center where

a new and contemporary
setting.

CENTER FOR ADVANCED
STUDIES
Stevens & Wilkinson, in association
with Red Iron Architects, was
selected by Charleston County
School District to design this new,
innovative center.
