Responsible for the seeking, developing, reporting Federal, State and Foundation grant proposals for the
overall organization, which serves the uninsured and underserved populations in San Diego, Riverside and
San Bernardino Counties. Funding sought, was to support primary care services, education and special needs
within all fifteen clinics within all three counties. Community engagement, local collaborations and initiatives,
and funder relationships were imperative to my position at Borrego Health, to support and establish positive
partnerships within the communities served. Responsibilities also included developing, managing, and
evaluating a youth health education program in Coachella Valley and Desert Hot Springs. Primary
responsibility was to support staff and develop an effective youth and community education program that
meet Borrego Community Health Foundation’s mission and vision objectives.

Riverside Community Health Foundation (RCHF) Riverside, CA
Director of Fundraising and Program Development (4/12 – 10/14)
The scope of work as the Director of Fundraising and Program Development was multifaceted.
Responsibilities included management of fundraising and marketing staff, oversight of yearly fundraising
events, development of program and management of resource center for women and men with breast cancer
(Pink Ribbon Place) and its fundraising arm, Thrift Store. Participated and maintained community
partnerships in support of program development and initiatives for the community. Developed and provided
leadership in a community-wide health initiative (Start RIGHT) in partnership and under the direction of the
Fit, Fresh, Fun initiative with the City of Riverside, Mayors Office.
Accountable for seeking all potential funders or funding opportunities to support objectives set forth by the
community and Riverside Community Health Foundation. Developed community assessments, evaluated
community needs and designed program initiatives. Prepared and submitted state and foundation RFA grant
applications. Once awarded, responsibilities included assuring major objectives were met, managed all
budgetary requirements, evaluations and reporting measures. Prepared and managed a substantial 1.8 million
dollar grant award from the State of California, Maternal Child Health, Cal PREP, which required substantial
reporting and management of objectives and staff.
Provided leadership guidance to the fundraising staff and provided direct supervision to the development
team, and health education staff. Lead and facilitated multiple community coalitions and advisory boards that
include Riverside Challenges of Youth Coalition, Pink Ribbon Advisory Board, and Start RIGHT Advisory
Group.
Director of Health Education (04/09 – 4/12)
Responsible for planning, implementing , managing, and evaluating effective education programs to seniors,
adults, youth and children in Riverside. Developed community assessments, evaluated community needs and
designed theory based educational curriculum to support all program initiatives. Provided direct supervision
management to the health education team, which included health educators, promotoras, and Pink Ribbon
support staff. Facilitated and directed youth coalitions, and advisory committees and boards.
Teen Health Service Coordinator (2/04 – 4/09)
Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing community presentations as it relates to adolescent
health. Managed and evaluated Community Challenge Grant (CCG) objectives and goals, and created expansion

classes, projects, and activities were conducted. Developed and managed positive relationships with local
government, school districts, and community leaders in Riverside that created opportunities for growth and
expansion of programs.

Health Care Social Worker, Department of Maternal Child Adolescent Health (6/03 – 2/04)
Provided case management services to pregnant or parenting teens to ensure clients receive comprehensive
services including medical, psychological, nutritional and health education assessments. As a case manager,
clients were monitored monthly through two state funded programs, Adolescent Family Life Services (AFLP)
and Cal Learn. These programs assisted clients and their children in obtaining the required services and
referrals needed to assure well being for both the parent and the child. Participated and lead public health
coalitions and community groups and developed various community health education projects in partnership
with local groups.
Health Educator, Department of Family Planning (3/00 – 6/03)
Determined Family Planning educational needs and participated in the planning, development, and evaluation
of the program. Maintained community coalitions, advisory councils and other partnerships, which provided
a collaborative approach in implementing positive health practices to the community. Facilitated and
organized educational sessions on various health issues including: birth control, sexually transmitted
infections, women’s health, and relationship building. Group facilitation was implemented countywide in
schools, community groups, agencies and public health departments.
