The Fairy Queen heritage train journey is a 1 night/2 day trip from Delhi to Alwar. Passengers travel on the train to Alwar and spend the night in a hotel, where they can enjoy cultural programs. The next day includes a jeep safari at Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary before returning to Delhi by train. Various package options are available at different price points for sections of the journey by train between Delhi, Alwar, Rewari. The historic steam train first ran in 1855 and was restored in 1997, offering tourists views of landmarks in Delhi and Alwar as well as wildlife at Sariska Sanctuary.

1. Steam Express - Fairy Queen
The journey of the heritage train, Fairy Queen is a 1 night/2 day journey where one
does not get an overnight stay on the train. The train leaves from Delhi
Cantonment Railway station (every 2nd and 4th Saturday) in the months of
October to March. One gets an overnight stay at one of the hotels of the
destination, Alwar. During the stay, one can enjoy various cultural programs that
are organized during that evening. At the time of the journey, the travelers get a
chance to visit numerous historical monuments of Delhi, sightseeing of Alwar and
visiting the world-famous Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary where one can enjoy the
facility of a Jeep Safari for exploring the amazing wildlife.

HISTORY
Fairy Queen is well-known as the oldest rolling locomotive of the world and is
rightly put in the category of heritage train. The train started its journey way back
in the year 1855 till 1908 but due to some reasons, its regular operations were
halted. The Indian Railway again in July 1997 again started the journey of this
heritage train that started from Delhi and goes on till Alwar. A major highlight here
is a visit to the famous Sariksa Wildlife Sanctuary.
