another proven performer,
the Fluidmaster 400A Fill Valve.
Save One Billion Gallons
in One Year!
When a 0.8 gpf Stealth Toilet is installed
along with water-saving faucet aerators
and showerheads, the resulting Stealth
System will save up to 40,000 gallons
of water per year, per household.
That means, if 25,000 homes are
retrofitted with the Stealth System,
the annual savings will be one billion
gallons of water!

Stealth toilets utilize patented vacuum-assisted technology,
with a second separate water chamber inside the tank.
Dual Flush Technology
The Stealth Dual Flush has primary and secondary
inner chambers. When the “full flush” button is pressed,
both the primary and secondary chambers release
a total of 0.95 gallons of water, to handle solid waste.
When the “HALF” button is pressed, only the primary chamber is used,
releasing 0.5 gallons of water, to handle liquid waste.
Primary Chamber
Secondary Chamber
When the flush button is pressed, water leaving the
tank forces waterthrough the openings in the side
and front of the bowl rim.
Water flows down
through the bowl,
thoroughly rinsing
the surface.
Water leaves the
tank and enters
the trapway under
pressure.
Water begins to refill the inner chamber
and the tank surrounding it.
As water fills the
inner chamber,
it pushes air
into an air
transfer tube.
Air leaves the
transfer tube
and pressurizes
the trapway.
Air pressure exerted
on the “bowl side” of
the trapway creates a
larger water surface.

As water leaves the
inner chamber, it pulls
air from the trapway
into the transfer tube.
Air leaving the
trapway creates a
vacuum, exerting a
pull that accelerates
the force of water
flowing through
the trapway.
This “vacuum-assist”
helps the all-important
siphon effect begin sooner
and last longer to complete
the flush more efficiently.

Every morning, millions of people
with conventional showerheads
waste water and money,
when they turn on their showers,
then continue getting ready
for their day waiting for
the water to get hot.
The Hot Start Showerhead
provides a simple solution.
When the shower is turned
on, the unheated water in
the plumbing system flows
through the showerhead.
Once the water reaches 95°,
flow is reduced to a trickle.
Hot water is ready and
waiting without wasting
water or energy.
When the user steps into the shower and presses the Hot

Niagara Conservation Success Stories
Southern Heights, Southern Lakes and Waverly Apartments
Atlanta, GA
Niagara, along with nationally-recognized
water conservation specialist Tom Stallings,
also known as “Tom The Toilet Man” of
Water-Smart, Inc., approached the owners
of three apartment complexes with an
opportunity to conserve more water,
in a total of 1,007 apartment units.
Each unit was updated to include the Stealth
toilet, the Earth Showerhead, and 1.5 gpm
aerators for kitchen and bathroom faucets.
After measuring water usage for one month,
the overall savings averaged a
68% reduction in water
consumption.
The highest reduction rate,
76%, was at Southern Heights,
where the average daily usage,
per person, dropped by 76%
from 100 gallons to 26 gallons.

Richmond on the Fairway
Lawrenceville, GA
This 243-unit apartment complex in an
Atlanta suburb was built in 1976, and still
had the original plumbing fixtures, including
3.5 gpf toilets, 2.5 gpm showerheads and
2.5 gpm aerators.
In January of 2013, the necessity to reduce
consumption became clear, as water and
sewer bills had hit a high of $28,723, and the
corresponding water usage for 31 days was
2,218,437 gallons. Working with Apartment
Water Management Company, LLC, the
complex began a major retrofit project,
using Niagara products. In May, 2013,
481 bathrooms were retrofitted with 0.8 gpf
Stealth toilets and 1.5 gpm showerheads
and aerators.
Monitoring monthly usage and costs,
the complex has seen an average monthly
savings on water and sewer of nearly $13,000.
At that rate, payback on the investment is
projected in 14-1/2 months. Moreover, it is
projected that the value of the property will
increase by the amount of money saved,
multiplied by 5 to 7 times.
“Water conservation is the way of the future. It’s what my
business is all about, which is why I’m sold on the Stealth
System. All Niagara products are engineered to deliver
outstanding quality, which helps make them phenomenally
quick and easy to install for our team. Innovative products
like Stealth really are the way of the future.”

Niagara Conservation Success Stories
University of California
Irvine, CA
In 2011, a water conservation program was developed
through a partnership between Niagara, the Irvine Ranch
Water District (IRWD) and the University of California at
Irvine (UCI). The plan was to install highly-efficient fixtures
in three different student housing complexes at UCI.
Niagara fixtures installed were Stealth 0.8 gpf toilets
(replacing both 1.6 gpf and 3.5 gpf toilets), 0.5 gpm faucet
aerators and 1.5 gpm showerheads. IRWD documented
the water savings derived from these retrofits.
The project, which was completed in 2012, was so
successful that the water saved could fill 475 swimming
pools! UCI, home to six student housing communities
owned by the university, hoped this project would
contribute to their goal of reducing water consumption
15% below their 2007 baseline by 2014.
Reducing water usage by an average of nearly 40% at
three of their student housing complexes allowed them
to get closer to reaching their ultimate goal.
The project resulted in immediate advantages for UCI
and savings that dramatically exceeded expectations.
Highlights:
• No cost to UC Irvine for pilot study;
IRWD paid for all installations.
• The retrofitted buildings received new Niagara
plumbing fixtures that were WaterSense labeled.
• Maintenance calls were reduced.
• The project continues to save nearly 9.5 million
gallons of water per year.
• Water usage was reduced by an average of
nearly 40% for the three complexes.
• Cost savings by the UCI facilities amounted to
$43,000 annually on water and wastewater bills.
9.5 MILLION GALLONS
SAVED PER YEAR
Due to this success, the IRWD, which spans
181 miles in densely populated Orange County,
California, expanded the initiative to a
district-wide Multi-Family Direct Install program.
In addition, Niagara is now partnering with the
University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA)
on a similar program to install water-saving
Niagara products in student housing.
Professional Property Management
Des Moines, IA
Over a 9-month period, Professional Property
Management (PPM) retrofitted every bathroom in
four of their apartment complexes in Des Moines
with a 0.8 gpf Stealth toilet, a 1.5 gpm water-saving
showerhead, and a 1.0 gpm faucet aerator.
One year after the installation, Keith Denner, president
of PPM, started looking at the impact of the Stealth
System on his bottom line, compared to the two
years prior to the retrofit. His calculations projected
dramatic increases in the value of the properties.
Keith Denner’s calculations were based on gallons
of water saved per year, and the resulting dollar
savings based on current water and sewer costs.
Dollar savings on maintenance labor were also
factored in, resulting in the elimination of the
need to replace flappers, and on a 90% decrease
in service calls.
He then calculated the increase in value for all
four properties, carrying it out over 10 years,
using a 7% capitalization rate and factoring in
a 7% annual increase in water and sewer rates.
