FEDERAL TOURISM POLICY
1. Tourism has been given the status of an industry.
2. All tourism facilities qualify for the benefits extended to other
recognized industries.
3. Export status has been granted to tourism industry.
4. Incentives admissible to other industries are allowed to
Tourism Zones or Enclaves established exclusively for foreign
tourists.
5. Approved travel agents and tour operators are provided
telephone, telex and fax facilities on priority.
6. Special equipment for adventure tourism is allowed for
import free of custom duty and sales tax.
7. Pakistan Railways will encourage the operation of steam
locomotives and narrow gauge trains under a package
programme.
8. Multiple entry visas will be granted by Pakistani Missions
abroad if such a request is made at the time of visa
application.

FACILITATION BY STC
1. Plots in attractive areas would be offered for development
as/of tourist resorts and allied facilities on concessional
basis.
2. Provision of electricity, telephone and if possible gas facility
will be ensured to the desired sites.
3. In the absence of electricity or in case of huge spendings on
its availability the sponsors shall be facilitated in installation
of small hydro power.
4. Exemption from all provincial taxes can be considered for a
specific period, however token lease amount would be
payable.
