StairScotch is a new sport that combines elements of Frisbee, hopscotch, and balance. Players toss a business card or recipe card up a flight of stairs and must hop on one foot to the top, picking up the card on each step without falling. It requires coordination, balance, and physical skill. Players can choose their level of difficulty based on whether or not they are allowed to hold the handrail. The goal is to be the first to reach the top while following the rules.

Overview
• StairScotch is a new sport combining the physical
acumen of balance and eye-hand coordination
with a three dimensional element alongside the
physics of Frisbee toss…
• The game is played with a business or recipe card
(harder to control than a Frisbee to add to the
sport’s challenge) and a set of home stairs.
5. StairScotch
Directions
• Like hopscotch, the game begins with the card being tossed to the first
step and an appropriate hop over the step containing the card, ultimately
reaching the top of the stairs on one foot.
• Stair landings are the only place for two footed rest stops.
• On the way back down the stairs, the card is picked up (again on one foot)
teaching balance and coordination, and always skipping over the step
where the card is in play.
• Once the first step is conquered the game continues on in the same
fashion until the top step.
• Whoever gets their card to the top of the stairway first, picking up their
card and returning to the bottom of the stairwell wins…
• NB: Each competitor must remember his or her step (as cards of other
players must be removed each turn) and each step must be successfully
completed before moving on to the next step.
