Staff play an important role in vision casting for the local church congregation. There are two types of church staff - clergy-like staff who move between congregations sharing common understandings of faith, and home-based staff who become rooted in their local community to help the church be vital and transformative. The staff, like the design team at Apple, should care that the church becomes what Christ intended and focus on quality. Regional churches must constantly market themselves through innovation by understanding community needs and offering relevant responses to problems. Effective vision casting involves design, quality, marketing, and innovation focused outward to help the congregation grow upward rather than inwardly focusing which leads to a downward spiral.
